The Venture Integration (VI) team focuses on maximizing acquisition success. We do this by providing objective and rigorous due diligence, risk identification and mitigation, integration insight, planning and execution, and post deal support. Creating deal value through M&A is the North Star that drives everything we do.

 

The Venture Integration team is hiring a Finance Manager to join the team. In this role, you will support the finance deal lead on more complex transactions by providing analytics, controllership and program management support.   

 

The successful candidate in this role will combine a passion for financial analysis and program management excellence. While the function strives to build strong processes and rhythms to support deals, you will derive energy from being agile ensuring that the plans aligns to achieving deal value as the priority. You are also an effective problem solver, able to bring together a wide range of stakeholders to seek win/win solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Finance Deal Lead to act as a trusted finance advisor to deal leaders
  • Prepare cost models for the integration plan and provide controllership over the integration cost estimates as approved for the deal
  • Maintain the finance integration plan of record for the deal, and collaborate with Finance Deal Lead on program management efforts of finance groups across Microsoft
  • Participate in maintaining best practices on key areas within Finance related to acquisitions and divestitures.
  • Lead special projects designed to improve VI’s capabilities for effectively acquiring and integrating companies

Qualifications

  • A BA/BS degree in Finance or Accounting is required
  • CPA or equivalent designation with previous Big 4 experience preferred
  • Must have broad-based business knowledge in the high-tech industry.
  • Strong financial and business acumen required
  • Operational finance and accounting experience a plus
  • Must be an effective communicator at all levels with the ability to act as trusted advisor to senior management at both Microsoft and the transaction partner
  • Must have exceptionally strong program management skills.
  • The most successful VI Finance Managers are outstanding relationship builders, problem definers/solvers, and clear communicators
