This position offers an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced financial analyst to play a key role in enabling the financial success of Environmental and Process Monitoring (EPM), a $285M standalone, global and fast-growing business unit in the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD).
What will you do?
Key responsibilities include productivity tracking, forecasting and analysis of EPM’s P&L’s (Income Statements) and Balance Sheets, and managing Annual Operating Plan (AOP) development. This role offers the right candidate great exposure to all functional areas and regions of the global EPM and CAD business, and a diverse workload with a clear objective of being a true business partner.
- Manage monthly and quarterly business review activities as well as Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
- Partner closely with the EPM operations (factory and supply chain/distribution) team to analyze and forecast results, and track costs, productivity, and working capital
- Analyze P&L’s and influence behavior to drive profitable growth, strong cash flow, and accountability to financial objectives and forecasts
- Analyze budget variances and work closely with Shared Service organization to understand and drive performance improvements to meet AOP targets
- Identify and lead initiatives to improve Bad Debt and E&O performance
- Generate ideas and support operations on continuous improvement (PPI) projects
- Understand the revenue levers and lead weekly Operations, Sales and Marketing call
- Build relationships across the value stream, collaborate with peers on divisional and corporate level in order to drive business partnering and efficiency initiatives
- Ad hoc analyses as requested
How will you get here?
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or related field; MBA preferred
- 5+ years of dynamic finance experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Must enjoy getting to the root cause of issues – not simply reporting variances but understanding the “why’s”
- Organized, structured problem solver with ability to prioritize multiple assignments, remain calm, work flexible hours and digest information from multiple, disparate parts
- Performs well in team and individual setting with high degree of emotional intelligence
- Continuous improvement approach
- Curious, engaged and not afraid to challenge conventional thinking, processes or analyses
- Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Office suite and Hyperion (HFM) or strong aptitude for multi-dimensional financial reporting databases
