Our location in Pleasanton, CA currently has an opportunity for a Sr Financial Analyst for Operations. This is a key value-added role within the Heart Failure Operations Finance team and will partner with various levels of HF Operations leadership to drive financial ownership, cost efficiency, and business excellence. 

The Sr Operations Financial Analyst conducts complex financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities, and partners with business leaders to reach spend targets and achieve annual operating plan commitments. There is a strong Cost component to this role, including standard costing, cost center management and cost accounting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Perform financial planning and analysis activities for the Pleasanton HF Operations organization including: workforce planning, spend budgeting, product cost forecasting, finance system planning, etc.

  • Provide sophisticated reporting to management utilizing knowledge of finance systems and high familiarity of the entity operations.

  • Develop annual standard costs for Pleasanton site, monitor monthly manufacturing and cost variances, and strategize with business leaders on gross margin improvement efforts

  • Create action plans, solicit buy in and implement plans based on analysis and reporting results.

  • Serve as subject matter expert lead special projects as assigned by finance department.

  • Provide month end analysis and commentary related to the financial close cycle. Analyze actual operating results compared to plan and forecast and quantify variances and their impact.

  • Conduct regular financial reviews with business partners to communicate financial performance and key business issues and provide valuable insight to help business achieve financial goals.

  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support complex decision making and propose final recommendations to management and business leaders; serve as financial lead in cross-functional team environments.

  • Prepare consolidated reporting and analysis for annual and quarterly planning cycles.

  • Collaborate with other leaders to ensure proper accounting and forecasting of entity financial results. Develop and foster business partnerships with organizational leaders

  • Comply with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • BS in Accounting/Finance required

  • Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, general accounting, or budgeting and planning including within a manufacturing environment required.

  • Cost Accounting experience required.

Preferred

  • SAP knowledge and experience strongly preferred

  • Hyperion Essbase or Dodeca or similar systems experience

  • Medical device manufacturing industry experience

  • CPA / MBA
