Masters Data Technology team with Architecture and Data Science Division is at the forefront of building BNY Strategic Reference Data Platforms Initial Focus on the initiative is to stand up Client, Account, Product, Reference and Security Master.

 

The Masters Technology team is looking for a motivated, Senior Technical Manager to manager development resources in a matrix role accountable for delivering technology solutions for Data as a Service (DaaS) initiatives. Candidate is expected to be well versed in Agile development practices working hand in hand with Product Owners to map out delivery roadmap. Candidate will accountable for delivery working hand in hand in Platform Engineers managing the overall delivery across teams. Detailed skill set requirement is provided below.

 

Sr.Group Manager, Appl Development->> Manages multiple application development projects for one or several business segments, including all phases of the systems development and implementation process. Provides analysis, design, development, testing and ongoing support for the client area application systems in an environment of diverse development platforms, computing environments, software, hardware, technology, tools, etc.. Works collaboratively with business partners on technology solutions that have a significant revenue or cost impact, oversees the development and implementation of multiple application systems and identifies resource requirements to ensure 'best practice' development techniques. Works collaboratively with business partners in defining, developing, and implementing technology solutions that have impact on improving the business. Oversees the development and implementation of multiple application systems. Defines resource requirements and allocations, monitors and improves quality, and ensures 'best practice' development techniques. Ensures the availability, integrity and stability of production systems by identifying appropriate resources to manage all systems and having a process in place to respond quickly to problems. Manages and forecasts operating budget within the approved plan.Communicates timely and accurate project-related information to relevant parties.Acts as an advocate for change management, encourages innovation and creativity in technology solutions.Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team. Manages multiple development teams. Contributes to the achievement of multiple teams' objectives. 

 

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 12 + years of experience in systems analysis and program development with related supervisory, management and administrative experience required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus

The Engineer will possess

• 15+ Yeas financial industry experience delivering platform solutions preferably in digital focused programs.
• Client facing role, expected to be Client facing and able to articulate application delivery schedules and conduct roadmap conversations
• Big Picture Solution Mindset, able to evaluate current state and identify gaps and present future state
• Must have strong deductive reasoning & diagnostic problem-solving skills. 
• Self-motivated, fast learner, willing to go outside of comfort zone and learn new things.

Core Skills

• Experience in delivering solutions in Java, (or) Other Languages. Financial Industry exposure preferred

• Experience in building platform solutions, microservices and APIs (Java or .NET)

• Extensive experience in running a F2B technical functions - managing resources, work schedules and active performance management.

• Prior experience in delivering technical platforms for Billing (or) Client Onboarding (or) Client Activation (or) CRM domains

• Prior experience in performing large scale technology delivery management – working with stakeholders

• Provide comprehensive senior-level technical consulting to IT management and senior technical staff;

• Evaluate compliance with the organization's technology standards

• Work with internal business and operations groups to identify and execute on opportunities, challenges, and Pre-requirements related to mastering data including client, account, product/services, and securities/prices;

• Analyze information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group;

• Guide and consults with IT management and technical staff regarding use of emerging technologies and associated services;

Participate in defining and executing master data management strategies across the bank
