How will you make an Impact?
This is a non-supervisory role, reporting to the Head of Supply Chain for the Cambridge Site. This role will have the primary responsibility for inventory control and operations strategies to drive network optimization across our business units. In this role you will directly interface with our Sommerville & Lexington Supply Chain, Operations and Finance teams.

What will you do?

  • Work with BM and PDS on bill back inventory to ensure invoicing and distribution of inventory is completely based on contract timing.
  • Assists in the creation and updating of the inventory strategies for the site.
  • Owner of the IRB Process
  • Develops cross-functional alignment on strategic initiatives around inventory modeling and practices with Supply Chain & Manufacturing
  • Oversees the cycle count program in coordination with Finance, Manufacturing Supply Chain and Production Planning functions.
  • Develops and implements robust processes to include Excess and Obsolete Inventory and actionable strategies. Maintain a forecast at a SKU level, and understands key drivers and creates actionable strategies.
  • Adjust inventory policies as necessary, to keep out of stock rates to a minimum which includes all stock locations.
  • Partner with Manufacturing & Supply Chain team to determine correct inventory quantities and maintain accountability for stock.
  • Identify trends at the SKU level through Ad-hoc analysis, point-of-sale data and reports.
  • Conduct and provide analysis of key performance indicators (KPI) among product lines.
  • Provide analysis with key performance indicators, information for decision making and alternative, actionable recommendations for inventory management by utilizing knowledge of the various software systems, database tools, and understanding of the business needs, determine surplus and vendor management strategies.
  • Work closely with buyer/planner to ensure accuracy of buying, implement training where needed.
  • Create annual plans alongside category management team and present to senior leadership.
  • Helps support new product launches/implementation from an inventory perspective.
  • Supports quotation process for new business.
  • Set inventory operational guidelines and procedures for employees to follow.
  • Engage and train employees on inventory related issues/discrepancies and make any corrective actions needed.
  • Track all inventory transactions for accuracy - determine quality control standards; monitor and execute all inventory adjustments along with employee purchases and company internal uses.
  • Review No fill reports – investigating discrepancies in the “no fill” reports; searching for missing items and adjusting inventory accordingly.
  • Organize and provide inventory, forecast, and supply components for SIOP plans for product category. This includes creating scenarios and inventory projections following Demand & Supply strategy.
  • Align the demand planner, supply planner, inventory planner, and buyer in the planning and execution of the supply chain components of product strategy in support of the program goals and KPIs.
How will you get here?

Education
  • High School / GED required.  An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics, systems engineering, supply chain management or similar is preferred. 
Experience
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a similar role required. 
  • Experience conducting tracking and data analysis.
  • Experience working with inventory management software and forecasting strategies is a plus. 
  • Experience with “Managing without authority” is a plus.
  • Product and inventory management certification a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of inventory control techniques.
  • Familiarity with a variety of concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter, mature, independent and dependable.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure, able to multi-task and is results-oriented.

Physical Requirements
  • Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Will be required to access clean room environments and follow applicable procedures.
