Job Description

The Sr. Manager, Business Development Companion Diagnostics builds strong relationships across divisions and corporate development organization as well as works closely with other Thermo Fisher businesses to drive growth opportunities in the companion diagnostics space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Business Development process in the area of companion diagnostics, including evaluation of new business opportunities and negotiantion of customer agreements.
  • Partner with businesses across the company to develop strategies for growth and effectively grow our partnership with customers to develop companion diagnositcs opportunities.
  • Implement and lead the investment prioritization process and other key business processes to include term sheets, negotiating for development terms, drug development and diagnostic partnering pathways, commercial terms, review of contracts and legal documents.
  • Develop the Companion Diagnostics business development team to proactively drive incremental growth opportunities aligned with strategic plans.
  • Works closely with divisional, and regional leadership to drive execution of strategy and tactics to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyzes industry dynamics and the competitive landscape and identifies opportunities for expansion in key growth markets and regions

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required preferably in business, life sciences, economics or other related field. MBA or related advanced degree desired
  • 10+ years of in-depth commercial, product management, business development and/or marketing in a related industry
  • Strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain professional and personal relationships with key business partners and customers positively impacting business growth
  • Excellent communication, team-building, and leadership skills
  • Excellent presentation and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated success working in a global, matrixed-environment with ability to influence without direct authority
  • Proven track record of effectively driving large scale initiatives from a business and cultural standpoint
  • Ability to understand, analyze and assimilate complex issues, draw correct conclusions and formulate clear strategy and policies
  • Effective negotiation skills
  • Experience and demonstrated aptitude both managing and prioritizing multiple projects and initiatives
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%, both domestic and internationally, as required
