How will you make an impact:

The Senior Manager, Channel Management is a key leadership position within the Laboratory Chemical Division (LCD) North America Commercial Team, responsible for Channel Management and Development. The focus of the position will be to define and execute the channel strategy to deliver growth for the LCD business through strategic distribution channels.

 
What will you do:
 
This individual’s responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following specific responsibilities:
 

  • Drive the revenue growth of our NA Commercial business for the Laboratory Chemical Division by championing a commercial process that sells through partner organizations to end users
  • Drive Tier 1 Channel sales objectives and awareness of the Laboratory Chemical Division Portfolio through training and sales engagement and events
  • Develop, refine, and implement a channel strategy that positions LCD to maximize market opportunity through balanced and sustainable growth
  • Develop, enhance, and cultivate solid relationships with Channel partners that bridge the gaps and align on strategic and customer engagements
  • Collaborate with other functional areas within Thermo Fisher to execute channel business/market plans
  • Evaluate market & customer purchase practices, preferences, trends, selling activities and distribution methods for reaching the target market and customer segments
  • Provide a monthly report and track metrics to AOP
  • Refine and leverage commercial/business models for how we fully leverage the strategic distribution channel
  • Own and drive the rationale and strategies for determining and managing the right mix of selling activities, marketing programs, and channel partner commercial actions to reach the target customer and influence the purchase of products or services
  • Conduct high level business reviews quarterly with key channels, Business Unit Leaders, and Commercial Team Managers
  • Develop, implement, and facilitate regularly scheduled product and industry training with Channel Partner Field and Inside Sales Teams
  • Maintain consistent interactions with key stakeholders, to drive progress related to goals and adapt strategy/tactics when necessary
How will you get here:

Education: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or business preferred, with an advanced degree in chemistry or business strongly preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum of 6 years’ sales and marketing experience in life sciences or a related field with 5 years minimum in a strategic/management role.
  • ​Proven track record of driving growth through strategic distribution channel partnerships is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a go to market strategy for a broad product portfolio across the value continuum.
  • Strong commercial and business acumen.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to use data to drive strategy and action.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to successfully influence peers and senior leaders in a matrix environment.
  • Experience leveraging CRM Tools as an analytical resource and building strategies
  • Process-oriented and self-motivated with a passion for continuous improvement and customer service.
  • Strong computer skills with experience in all Microsoft office programs.
  • Proven organizational skills and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Ability to travel locally to Pittsburgh, PA and Philadelphia, PA with 10% additional travel for business events/meetings.
