As WEC’s largest market, the Sr. Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis for Canada is a key role within the International and WEC Finance and Commercial teams. The job holder will be a primary finance business partner to AA management team and be accountable for driving the annual operating plan and forecasting processes, analyzing performance trends and making recommendations for operating performance improvements. Through a comprehensive understanding of the markets, products and customers this role will provide insights, implement and execute strategies and plans designed to challenge and optimize the business units they are partnering with. The FP&A Manager will also serve as a strategic advisor to the local FD and will deputize for the FD in certain situations. Responsibility: • Provides strategic and operational financial support to the local organisation in setting strategic objectives and in delivering on quarterly and annual financial targets • Provides insightful analysis of current business trends and financial metrics along with recommendations for improvement or risk mitigation for consideration by the AA GM and local country FD. • Working closely as business partner with cross functional stakeholders • Drives the annual plan and periodic forecast processes, ensuring that deliverables are reasonably predictive of future results. Keeps financial and operational management appraised of current business trends relative to plan and forecast. Formulates recommendations for course correction as required • Ensures that local financial processes and procedures at a country level are operating effectively to enable accurate and timely reporting of financial results and maintenance of adequate internal controls in accordance with Corporate financial policies and procedures. • Develops and executes continual process improvements to allow for routine analytical reviews of company financial and operational performance, leveraging business analytical resources and tools. • Drive and ensure linkage between investment allocations and the P&L. Constant resource allocation review expected to maximize ROI. • Drive pricing reviews with analytical support for decisions on new product/new channel/commercial policy optimization and key contracts negotiation. • Integrate financial planning process with cash flow planning, transfer pricing planning and demand planning • Lead weekly sales forecasting process and guide Commercial Operations on to-market sales of all products • Lead production of analysis of expenses to Commercial teams to support cost management and promote ways to improve forecast accuracy and budget clarity, also working in conjunction with the Procurement team • Sales and full P&L modelling for new products launches and/or initiatives. • Prepare and communicate business unit/country financial and operational performance trends, historical and forecasted, using appropriate metrics. Suggest trends, growth opportunities, resulting implications and key actions, with special focus on providing insights to with accurate financial data provision. • Support ad hoc management & stakeholder requests for financial information • Drive continued integration of financial planning with Supply Chain, Financial Reporting & Accounting, Commercial Operations and Marketing teams • Fosters a culture of strong financial discipline and business integrity • Raise the capabilities of FP&A to become a trusted/value added business partner Accounting, statutory reporting, corporate governance • Coordinate and supervise accounting activities in compliance with local regulations, US GAAP, and company policies • Coordinate the month-end accounting close process in order to provide timely and accurate financial reports. • Support external and internal audit Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelors degree. Chartered/Fully Qualified accountant status in line with local accounting regulations. Broad experience within commercial finance including finance operations, cash flow, commercial business partnering, Financial Controlling (internal and external) Fluent in English Essential Skills, Experience, and Competencies (includes Licenses, Credentials) Ability to balance broad strategic objectives with the ability to execute day-to-day tactical operations Strong change management skills, ability to lead through change Strong interpersonal and presentation skills and ability to build a strong network across the organization Ability to deal effectively with all levels of operating and financial management within a Fortune 500 corporate environment Strong business acumen Demonstrates strong business integrity. Builds and leads an effective team, that will interact effectively within a “One Company”/ “One Finance Team” culture Ability to challenge the status quo through innovation and Bold thinking. In-depth understanding of financial statements (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow) & core finance/accounting concepts Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-starter capable of working in a deadline-oriented environment Ability to recognize key issues and effectively communicate those to management Strong written and verbal communication skills. Team oriented leader with the ability to develop talent Good interpersonal skills, including the ability and desire to communicate, collaborate, and coordinate with others throughout the business and finance organizations Strong spreadsheet, power point, and financial systems experience Knowledge of financial systems (SAP) Aspirations to reach FD level within the medium-term future.
