Sr Manager - Foundry Process Technology
InvenSenseTaiwanUpdate time: August 26,2019
Job Description

The rapid growth of TDK’s product diversity and volume has resulted in the need for a hands-on Sr. Manager, Yield Engineering within the Foundry Operations group. This individual contributor will have broad responsibilities which include:

  • Lead continuous improvement projects with our foundry partners. Projects span entire portfolio of component products and semiconductor process.
  • Yield analysis and engineering on new product launches at worldwide foundry partners.
  • Customer facing interactions for ppm level field returns and associated corrective actions.
  • Monitor inline/PCM/wafer yield/package yield trends and lead yield improvement actions with external foundry engineering teams.
  • Set specifications for new products based on statistical analysis of development lots to ensure six-sigma manufacturability.

Requirements:

  • Broad experience with semiconductor and MEMS processing ideally in both fab and fabless organizations
  • Experience with rigorous statistical data analysis, multi-variate data modeling, statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) at the level of an instructor.
  • Expertise and dexterity at developing relational databases and automated reporting/analysis.
  • Strong background in leading industry standard quality techniques (six sigma master black belt preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of driving yield improvements of emerging technologies to ppm level and below.
  • Experience growing and developing highly motivated and efficient teams.

Additional desirable skills:

  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuits, and their interactions with semiconductor processes
  • Experience with database creation and maintenance
  • Programming Experience, esp. MS Sql, C#, and .Net

Description of TDK’s internally developed database:

TDK’s production database, commonly known as waferviewer database, is an amalgamation of several individual production databases which provide die level traceability through the entire testing flow of every production unit. Each of the individual databases is a MS SQL database consisting of sets of data tables that store die-level test data produced at TDK and the corresponding wafer/lot-level statistics. The main/controlling table of the database(s) also tracks logistical information, such as wafer status, disposition, incoming quality concerns, etc and provides the real-time status of any particular wafer. Tools built on top of the database, both web-based and offline, have enabled:

  • Automated wafer disposition
  • Assembly build maps creation, both production and engineering
  • Summary yield reporting
  • SPC monitoring
  • Test tool (both wafer sort and final test) monitoring

Finally, the primary yield analysis tool used in TDK, also commonly known as WaferViewer, is directly connected to the database and is designed around its structure.
