Job Description Summary - Sr. Manager Manufacturing

Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, this position will manage all operational aspects of commercial and clinical drug product manufacture for Amgen Dun Laoghaire. The role has responsibility for formulation, filling and lyophilisation of drug product in vial and syringe formats. As part of the Patient Supply Leadership team, the candidate will provide strong management and leadership in the Manufacturing area with a primary focus on safety, while meeting the quality expectations of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build a safety culture throughout the manufacturing areas, driving safety awareness and improved safety metrics
• Maximise plant resources and coordinate personnel to ensure safety, product quality standards and production schedules are met within budgeted costs
• Deliver the plan in accordance with agreed customer requirements
• Coach and develop team of manufacturing managers with approximately 50 operational staff to achieve production goals and objectives in line with key performance indicators
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure the success of the site as a whole
• Drive reliability of the plant. Oversee response to issues that occur, through effective root cause analysis and implementation of appropriate preventative actions
• Support a process for driving continuous improvements and sustained productivity. Initiate and implement innovative and sustainable, plant improvement projects consistent with business strategy.
• Operations expert for process development and new product introduction projects
• Responsible for recruiting talented staff into Manufacturing and setting standards for their performance.
• Develop, maintain, and justify the department’s budget
• Provide direction on departmental and/or site priorities

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in pharmaceutical Manufacturing positions
• 4+ years' management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or combination of education and/or years of experience
