POSITION SUMMARY
The NPI Regional Manager leads and manages the regional NPI team in execution of the NPI deliverables. This role will manage scheduling and release processes required to successfully design, build, and transfer new products from AE’s global design centers into manufacturing and is responsible for coordination of all NPI builds at the regional site.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead new product development build plan realization, managing NPI shipments, ensuring prototype quality assurance activities, and program transition into full production.
- Strategically plan and optimize early supply to support early customer demand and engineering requirements.
- Drive MRP and demand planning to support customer requirements.
- Manage engineering on-time-delivery metric and goals.
- Execute configuration management on new products ensuring product readiness for manufacturing.
- Lead, coach and develop a group of NPI professionals, refining skill sets as necessary to support future growth of larger or more complex NPI projects.
- Manage the allocation and utilization of resources within the NPI team and work through the product prioritization process to ensure new projects can be supported prior to being pulled to active status.
- Identify opportunities for NPI business process improvements and drive implementation.
- Manage the utilization of drafting resource for build document developments , optimize the process, tools and system to support the evolution of business needs.
QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS:
- Critical thinking skills and proficient in risk and issue management.
- Capable of development and management of a highly effective set of metrics.
- Highly agile in achieving success within a constantly evolving environment.
- Willing and experienced in developing individuals and teams.
- Ability to communicate with executive management and to customers.
- Strong planning and project management skills including understanding of SAP/ERP.
EXPERIENCE:
Essential:
- 5+ years related experience managing eng planning /new product introduction from global regions.
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, Materials Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent education and/or experience.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment.
- Works under minimal supervision for a supervisor that may be in a different geographical location.
- Requires international travel (~10%).
