Job Title: PPI Business System Sr. Manager, APAC and EM

Position Summary:  
 
This role will facilitate implementation of the PPI Business System, primarily within SG&A functions in APAC and EM, to enable profitable growth, intensify the customer experience and increase employee engagement.
 
The position collaborates with key stakeholders to build a continuous improvement culture within Functional teams (outside of Operations). The role will facilitate the development of a PPI roadmap and future state to support this cultural progression.  The role will also lead key PPI projects to drive improvement along end-to-end value streams, including the leveraging of Robotic Process Automation and digital technologies, in addition to lean tools and methodologies.
 
The role involves facilitating the lean fundamentals, such as visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, stand-up meetings, leading strategy deployment sessions, facilitating process mapping, value stream mapping, kaizen events, senior level coaching and project funnel coordination. It will also involves developing capability in these areas by training teams and providing coaching through the events.
 
 
Minimum Qualifications:
 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with and positively influence leadership and all levels of the organization
  • A Lean Practitioner with 3+ years experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful TPS fundamentals including elements such as:
    • Visual management/5S, value stream mapping, standard work, metric boards, Gemba events, stand-up meetings and project funnel coordination
    • Expertise in problem-solving utilizing a formal program/process
  • 2+ years of experience in an operational excellence capacity with demonstrated experience utilizing lean tools on a specific project and influencing cross-functional stakeholders is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience in a non-manufacturing environment (Finance, Customer Care, etc.) preferred
  • A holistic thinker who can look enterprise-wide to integrate and streamline systems for optimal benefit.
  • Able to drive strategic thinking and continuous improvement in both non-operational and operational areas, including connecting the cross-functional resources to remove waste along the extended value streams.
  • Passion for driving improvement and leading change in a complex, global environment.
  • Change agent and able to embrace change and follow up activities with proper closure
  • Proven track record for developing, training, and coaching teams
  • Able to apply, teach, and coach teams on the use of Lean Six Sigma concepts of Visual Management, 5S, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, FMEA, Pareto charts, and histograms etc.
  • Great communicator, including solid written, oral and presentation-giving skills. 
  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional processes and financial business methods
  • High ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, operations or business.
  • Process Improvement experience in APAC
  • Leadership (Daily Management, KPI leadership, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks) in non-manufacturing business.
  • Lean Six Sigma and/or Project Management Certification.
  • Experience managing a continuous improvement program across multisite Business Unit or Division
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement sustainable improvements within the organization. Commercial business orientation /financial acumen.
  • Able to travel periodically; > 25%
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in disciplines such as finance, customer care, operations, commercial, engineering, quality, or product management roles
  • Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods (SIOP, Customer Connections, Strategic Sourcing, etc.)
  • MBA degree preferred or other Advanced degree is a plus
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
 
Key Duties and Responsibilities: 
 
  • Lead/work with functional teams to streamline processes to improve the customer experience, enable profitable growth and become more efficient.
  • Help teams identify new projects through value stream mapping, data analysis and daily management systems. Coordinate the project funnel to keep an ongoing queue of projects to meet productivity goals and ensure Actual versus Target is regularly reported to key stakeholders.
  • Enable improved connections between functional teams on PPI initiatives with key group and divisional stakeholders and teams to accelerate improvement outcomes.
  • Diplomatically cultivate an action-biased culture of continuous improvement to improve KPIs, in the areas of customer, finance, people and quality.
  • Provide support to develop problem solving capability within the organization at all levels
  • Train, coach and follow-up with sponsors, champions and teams to ensure system improvements are sustained and the stakeholders are able to run the processes independently
  • Work closely with business leadership and PPI steering committees to identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI Business System.
  • Work with site leadership to develop PPI bench strength for future PPI career development opportunities and roles.
  • Work with the expanded team to develop/promote/standardize the PPI Business System further.
  • Facilitate transformation efforts (Kaizen, VSM, Projects) to deliver Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Profit & Loss (P&L) improvement results.
  • Measure and report on key performance indicators (leading and lagging) at the site level; develop and implement effective corrective action plans in conjunction with Site and PPI managers to address any areas of concern
  • Establish and mature the Lean Management System (tiered daily management systems, KPI leadership, Gemba walks, other PPI/LEAN tools and other coaching tools to transform the culture.
  • Conduct PPI/LEAN training for leadership and employee (where required)
  • Communicate success stories and manage knowledge of Continuous Improvement charter and ensure benchmarking and implementation of best practices are carried out in the organization.
  • Challenge organizational leaders as necessary to create an action-based culture of continuous improvement and accountability to improve KPI’s, including growth, productivity, inventory, and customer allegiance.
