How will you make an impact?
The Senior Manager, Program Management oversees a team within the St. Louis, MO Biologics Program Management Department. As a leading Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization in the biologics industry, leverages the Program Management organization and cross-functional resources to ensure and execution of client programs at the site. Oversees all activities relating to client scopes of work, communication, project planning, scheduling, and budget management. The position requires utilizing recognized best practices for developing, initiating, planning, executing, controlling and closing projects.
 
What will you do?

 
  • Oversight of a team of program management professional.
  • Responsible to set meaningful departmental goals.
  • Responsible for the growth and development of Program Managers and associated support personnel.
  • Engages, coaches, enables exceptional performance by the Site Program Management team.
  • Identifies, attracts, motivates and retains superior talent at all levels within the PM team.
  • Creates meaningful development opportunities and provides mentorship.
  • Identifies training and development plans for the PM team.
  • Defines Vision, Goals and Objectives for the St. Louis PM team.
  • Responsible for customer project management including communications, financials, scopes of work, timeline, risk analysis, governance structure, and conflict resolution.
  • Maintains strong business relationships and drives growth through strategic program governance.
  • Builds team in support of succession planning for critical roles. Develops and evaluates staff to ensure the exceptional customer service and program delivery.
  • Leads a team of professionals to meet expectations of customers, internal staff and business stakeholders in managing high quality, integrated cross-functional project plans.
  • Coordinates project management methodology with those of internal business partners in finance, quality, operations and supply chain.
  • Leads a PM team to drive customer-centric approach to program delivery.
  • Ensures site processes and tools for program support are aligned with harmonized processes and managed consistently across the network.
  • Collaborate with site financial management staff to deliver financial results of the business.
  • Champions deployment of approved business maturity solutions.
  • Supports site adoption and improvement of the corporate Customer Experience Management program.
  • Works on problems of diverse scope, takes actions and brings resolutions to ground.
  • Exercises consistent independent judgment to drive value for the company and customer.
  • Acts as advisor to site, actively involved with customer programs to meet schedules or resolve problems.
  • Interacts with cross-functional teams, outside customers, and third parties to drive proactive solutions to deliver world-class customer service and program delivery.
  • Leverages relationships to ensure exceptional customer service and program delivery.
  • Demonstrates company values.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to staff to achieve goals in accordance with established policies.
  • Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Work is reviewed periodically by management and measured based on meeting objectives.
  • Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve goals may result in additional costs, lost revenues, and delays in overall schedules.
How will you get here?
Education
  • BS/Masters Degree or Ph.D. in a life sciences discipline. M.B.A. is desirable.
  • Project Management certification is strongly preferred.
Experience
  • 8+ years of previous related experience, with 4-6 years in commercial strategy, business management, project management, supply chain, sales or marketing with internal and external client-facing responsibilities.
  • Pharmaceutical or Contract Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices and experience with budgeting and forecasting.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a matrixed organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and respond appropriately to change.
  • Ability to interact effectively with clients to advance program outcomes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.
