Position Summary
Our Genetic Sciences Division (GSD) based in South San Francisco is at the forefront of innovation for genetic analysis research and clinical applications. The Genetic Testing Solutions Organization within GSD is a cross-platform organization designed to accelerate growth in the clinical space. The Asymptomatic Testing Solutions team within GTS is focused on developing product, technology, and service solutions that can enable the world to successfully manage pandemics, such as COVID-19, minimizing both negative health and economic outcomes. The team is dedicated to working across all Thermo Fisher Scientific genetic analysis platforms and diagnostic products, as well as identifying external partnerships (e.g., M&A, OEM, etc.), to develop products/solutions for key market verticals/ stakeholders across the globe The product portfolio and pipeline include both RUO and IVD products, and will include self-manufactured, OEM, and 3rd party products, technologies, and services. The Sr. Marketing Manager will lead all marketing initiatives for ATS across all use cases/ market segments (employee, education, travel, etc., testing) globally. The successful candidate will be a member of the GTS and GSD Clinical Vertical Global Market Development Team, responsible for leading key marketing programs in asymptomatic testing, setting the strategic direction and tactical implementation of activities and deliverables supporting the solutions developed for each market segment/ region, and executing-to-plan in cross-functional teams.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop strategic, multi-channel integrated marketing plans for areas of responsibility, including customer segmentation, competitor analysis, business trends, market opportunities, and staging and pacing of marketing tactical programs
- Utilize direct knowledge of pandemic testing market and associated customers to identify target customer segments and create value propositions and key messages for each segment
- Develop and execute engaging marketing campaigns to generate awareness and drive demand; achieve measurable results for key initiatives and new and/or existing products
- Collaborate and ensure alignment of marketing plans among Product Management, Regional Market Development Partners, Commercial Leaders, and other stakeholders
- Successfully engage with advertising agencies and marketing program managers to deliver high-quality assets, including, but not limited to, creative direction and content for print and digital collateral, PR, social media, customer-facing presentations, global tradeshow properties and promotional materials
- Maintain campaign metrics dashboards to measure the effectiveness of marketing activities
- Propose and execute on customer and market research programs to provide key market insights and actionable business outcomes
- Maintain knowledge of the trends and competitive environment related to pandemic testing programs, technologies, protocols, products, etc.
- Partner with Product Management and Regional Marketing Managers to develop and deliver sales training and support materials, measure, monitor, and adjust engagement with commercial teams to drive adoption
- Manage marketing budgets and optimize the promotional mix on campaigns to achieve a high return on investment
- Act as a brand ambassador, understanding, upholding, and communicating our multi-brand strategy in all aspects of our marketing programs
- Interact with varying levels of internal and external personnel including direct customer communication, KOL engagement and management, and public presentation to influence national/ international standards related to pandemic testing
- Develop and execute programs, aligned with Thermo Fisher government relations and regulator leadership, to establish Thermo Fisher as a global thought leader in the pandemic testing market
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Marketing, Communications or Business, with previous work experience in clinical, medical devices, or pharmaceutical industry.
- 7+ years of proven hands-on experience in marketing roles of increasing scope and responsibility in the genomics, molecular biology, or molecular diagnostic arenas. Experience in marketing product, technology, and service solutions a plus.
- Self-starter and collaborative within project teams, and successful track record working in complex global, matrix environments, including managing expectations of multiple stakeholders across business units and regions
- Excellent written and oral communication skills including presentations to senior leadership and large audiences
- Experience managing direct reports and/or mentoring junior employees
- Exceptional skill managing complex marketing projects with a strong attention to detail
- Adept at building and maintain relationships with customers and key opinion leaders
- Strong creative intuition on design and messaging that resonates with customers and an ability to learn from previous campaigns to improve on performance
- Develop and deliver presentations and trainings for a wide variety of audiences, including sales teams, regional marketing and customers
- Must be able to manage project scope, budget and schedule to achieve timely completion of project deliverables
