Job Description
- Work as the prime technical support engineer for each product platform including Eletrification products in terms of materials specification, material/process selection and qualification, failure analysis, materials usage specification and materials characterization;
- Support Asia engineering functions team (Application Engineering, Product assurance) with materials failure analysis and materials qualification in the form of Metallurgical Engineering report.
- Participate some local and global R&D project relevant to materials and process development,
- Work together with procurement team to achieve the VAVE target relevant to turbocharger and ebooting material and processing engineering saving opportunity;;
- Provide technical assistance to supplier quality development/engineering team in identifying, developing, and qualifying suppliers in terms of materials, processes and laboratories.
- Support materials lab operation following Garrett Excellence Model (GEM);
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor degree or above in Materials Science & Engineering with at least 3-5 years hands-on industrial experience
- Be capable of providing sound technical, professional, and performance leadership in at least one area of metallurgy, electronic materials, failure analysis, materials characterization, tribology, corrosion, surface engineering, working independently without direct materials related assistance.
- Be able to demonstrate solid physical metallurgy/materials physics background and demonstrate a certain capability of failure analysis and technical support.
- Be familiar with engineering materials and material specifications such as ASTM, EN, GB, etc.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English;
- Be a team worker and self-learner;
- Prefer to get the skills of SEM/EDS/EBSD hands-on experience
- Be familiar with the magnetic materials, electronic materials relevant knowledges
- Prefer to get the six sigma certificate
