The purpose of the Medical Launch Project (Sr.) Manager role is to bring all team involved in various medical launch activities (from clinical trial design to commercial launch) together to drive towards ’launch excellence‘ for all assets in Lilly China. The role will build, lead and adapt a ‘launch excellence model’ for the affiliate and lead the central implementation of a local integrated launch plan.
This position will oversee all medical launch activities and align with affiliate cross function launch team.
The Key areas of the focus are:

• Building outstanding partnerships with all the cross-functional teams to form a productive ‘launch expert network’ throughout Lilly.
• Build, implement and maintain the ’launch excellence model/tool’ to facilitate all the launch activities
• Act as a key resource to the launch teams through extensive networking at local and global levels, bring/leverage organizational experiences, expertise and resources to help the local team with their launch planning and execution
• Stay close to external benchmark, bring improvements to optimize launch planning, implementation and processes
• Coach and support product launch leaders at various stages of lifecycle of products to optimize the deliverables on time with top quality
• Ensure full visibility at the affiliate level on the launch progress of any stage; identify potential risks and coordinate risk management and solution implementation to resolve issues and remove barriers to excellent product launches.

The success of the role will be defined by the strong partnership with all teams and is measured by achievement of all launch milestones for all assets

  • Build, implement and maintain an ‘accountability and monitoring’ portfolio management platform to ensure launch team and product launch hit their planned deliverables
  • Monitor the progress on launch milestones and take action/escalation to remove barriers in a timely and effective manner. Report progress and ensure full visibility and support.
  • Instil and facilitate a ‘holistic and evidence bases mindset’ to ensure critical requirements are taken into consideration throughout the launch process ( from clinical trial design to commercial launch)
  • Build and draw on an extensive network with global stakeholders to support local progress (expertise, experiences, resources. Etc.,)
  • Support the product launch team when influence and negotiation is required
  • Challenge the product launch team to constantly improve decision making to ensure best possible launch for products
  • Use external benchmarks and learning to improve our launch process, planning and implementation
