What you will do

Let’s do this. Let’s change the world. In this vital role you will interact with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals. As part of the Inflammation/Rheumatology Field Medical team, the MSL will communicate accurate, clear, and valued information regarding our science and products to multiple levels within the medical community and be responsible for providing field observations to internal partners. The territory includes Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, and Puerto Rico.

  • Be a field-based medical specialist supporting the cross-functional medical educational activities aligned with internal and external partners
  • Provide accurate, clear and value related information communicating complex groundbreaking science and product information to multiple levels of partners within the medical community
  • Align with MSL/Medical leadership to develop innovative and nontraditional MSL strategies and tactics in support of the TA products and pipeline molecules
  • Model openness and innovation through words, actions and decisions
  • Share takeaways including entrepreneurial and innovative ideas with others and hold themselves self-accountable for performance
  • Provide field observations to internal medical partners
  • Represent Amgen by supporting advisory boards, congresses and professional association meetings as advised
  • Support internal cross-functional commercial, marketing and brand partners training and activities as requested
  • Seek out opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research and clinical trial site involvement as determined by MSL/Medical leadership and Global Development Operations
  • Cultivate compliant cross-functional collaboration and communication with commercial and value/access field management

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate Level Degree and 3+ years of MSL experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
  • Clinical experience in the Rheumatology or Inflammation therapeutic space
  • 5 or more years proven experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • 5 or more years in a medically-related field which can include post-doctoral training (i.e. residencies and/or fellowships)
