How will you make an impact?
 
The Senior Manager of Integrated Solutions is key to defining and developing integrated instrumentation and consumables for the Genetic Sciences Division. This person leads a team of highly technical and specialized engineering professionals, and collaborates internationally with scientists and engineers to develop world-class qPCR, Capillary Electrophoresis, Rapid DNA, and Microarray platforms for both the RUO and IVD markets.
 
What will you do?

• Partner with our Product Management teams to define and prioritize the product development pipeline.
• Work with our business development and legal teams to review the applicability of new technologies, understand the patent landscape, and assess technology readiness.
• Drive advanced development efforts of novel technologies that help grow the genetic analysis business.
• Champion good projects and be accountable for Quality, Cost and Delivery of the product.
• Provide experienced technical leadership to product development teams.
• Work hand-in-hand with the Operations team to transfer your products into manufacturing.
• Build a high-performance team by staffing the group with world class talent and diligently developing existing talent. Ensure the use of best practices to deliver products that delight our customers. 

How will you get there?
 
Education

• MS/Ph.D. degree in an engineering discipline or applied physics

Experience ​

• 12+ years experience in a commercial instrumentation R&D setting, preferably in genomics
• 7+ years experience leading R&D teams
• 3+ years experience serving regulated markets in a commercial environment
• Track record of delivering innovative products on time and on budget
• Considerable experience in developing moderate complexity life sciences instrumentation
• Demonstrable expertise in systems engineering processes, from requirements gathering and risk analysis to statistical power in validation
• A record as a technical lead of having delivered multiple instruments integrating sample preparation or manipulation
• A solid understanding of genetic analysis tools, workflows, and chemistry in at least one of these areas: CE Sanger sequencing, qPCR, microarray, or sample preparation
• Key people leadership attributes: Passionate about building great teams and great culture

• Adept in talent development and management
• Fosters collaborative relationships and builds credibility across functions/teams
• Skilled at matching associates to the right projects in order to optimize output and staff fulfillment

• Able to decisively lead and empower teams to develop impactful strategies and plans 
• Maintains a high level of professional expertise through familiarity with current engineering/scientific literature, competing technologies, and/or products as well as attendance of seminars and meetings.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Demonstrated success working in a global matrixed-environment & willingness to travel up to 25%, domestic or internationally
• Demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage customer and partner relationships at senior levels with strong orientation toward quality
