How will you make an impact?

Use appropriate leadership skills to guide individuals toward task accomplishment in the optimum operations of packaging and inspection areas, while insuring proper documentation, process checks and verification of components. Typical hours for this role is Sunday - Thursday, 8p - 6a. There is also a considerable amount of overtime required.

What will you do?

  • Ensure operations are performed in a safe and responsible manner striving to create an injury-free and incident-free workplace.
  • Inform supervision of any violations of rules or procedures and assist supervision on implementation of rules and procedures in the area. Keep supervision informed of production and training progress and follow-up where necessary.
  • Plan with supervisor’s assistance that a successive production order is prepared and ready for crew when needed. Includes lining up fill-in type work needed for emergency situations such as equipment down time, inspection/packaging material problems or shortages, etc.
  • Provide verification of components and bulk used to inspect/package each batch of product.
  • Receive work schedule, assign and rotate personnel for job operations as required and assign the crew to specific jobs during cleanup/changeovers.
  • Instruct and train employees in quality standards and job specific responsibilities.
  • Perform process checks and monitor proper documentation throughout the packaging/inspection process according to the Filling Work Order (FWO), Packaging Work Order (PWO) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Maintain accurate inventory control for batch and materials. Reconcile quality for all components used for each product batch. Investigate any reconciliation discrepancies.

How will you get here?

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is minimally required.

Experience:

  • Two years of experience in manual inspection/pharmaceutical packaging is highly preferred.

Equivalency:

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Demonstrated punctuality and sense of responsibility through adherence to department attendance guidelines.
  • Ability to plan, prepare, and execute a work routine that will insure that all necessary tasks are completed accurately and in a timely manner to insure a quality product as well as schedule adherence.
  • Self-motivated and able to work proactively at all times.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills.
  • Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to show good judgement.

Physical Requirements:

Position requires ordinary ambulatory skills and physical coordination sufficient to move about office locations; ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch periodically for prolonged periods of time; manipulation (lift, carry, move) of light to medium weights of 10-35 pounds; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp and type for prolonged periods of time; visual acuity to use a keyboard, computer monitor, operate equipment, and read materials for prolonged periods of time; ability to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear for prolonged periods of time. Be able to push objects weighing 50-100 pounds and be able to grip strength 50-80 pounds.
