Job Description
Responsible for leading and providing strategic direction on product management and development for multiple highly complex global products that are high impact and high profile. Liaises with cross-functional teams to deliver products that address client needs. Responsible for product design, product development and adoption strategy for multiple highly complex global products that are high impact and high profile. Responsible for providing strategic direction to enterprise cross functional teams working on highly complex project deliverables. Uses complete and detailed understanding of the product set to drive design or development considerations and validate that support model for post-rollout is in place. Serves as a subject matter expert and provides strategic direction on product competitors, consumer trends, and market status. Is primary point of contact for clients & stakeholders. Responsible for managing product direction, strategy and overall related project execution plans. Acts as the product champion and ambassador. Ultimately responsible for defining the product position and brand.Contributes to the achievement of Product Management objectives Responsibilities include: • Own, prioritize and communicate the short, medium, and long term product road map and release plan • Interface with the rest of the product and engineering organization to understand opportunities, requirements and priorities to ensure the right focus of the team • Interface with partner services that provide critical elements of our end user product (i.e. security, IAM, UX and infrastructure teams) • Own backlog and priorities of efforts that will perfect and scale our platforms • Monitor, measure and evaluate success of rolled out capabilities and iterate as needed • Create and develop metrics (data) to evaluate the usage and success of the products you're accountable for • Foster adoption of new infrastructure support/systems developed by the team • Understand, partake in, and discuss the architecture/technical decisions made by the team • Interface with 100+ global development teams • Contribute to the broader Platform strategy; give feedback to technical teams building products on top of existing shared services • Answer day-to-day product questions from engineers, business partners and support personnel • Manage communication of progress/status to internal and external stakeholders • Triage bugs and other improvements to alleviate issues swiftly • Develop tools and processes to improve team efficiency, delivering more value to the customer, and the company • Support operations, compliance, and customer experience teams in their technical questions and needs Qualifications • Experience in an Agile development environment • Experience working in a federated content / platform provider model a plus • Experience in UX/CX • Demonstrated experience working in a highly scalable & available system development an operational environment • Experience prioritizing a feature backlog for a backend engineering team juggling multiple work streams • Experience working with globally dispersed resources • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence a plus • Ability to collaborate with others, ask thoughtful questions, and identify and implement creative product and business solutions in order to complete aspects of product design • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both oral and written and proven track record of building relationships • Metrics driven, can draw insights from large data sets to improve product focus Bachelor's degree in business management or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required 12+ years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus BNY Mellon is an Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
