Job Description:
The Systems, Software, and Architecture Research (SSA) group within Intel Labs are seeking a senior technical leader for an RnD position in Intel's Emerging Systems Lab (ESL). The candidate will be driving Intel's research on memory and storage architectures working closely with our Business Unit partners for developing and transferring the cutting edge technology components. The research scope will include future HW/SW and system architectures for persistent memory/storage tiers, disaggregated memory/storage as well as memory-centric architectures that address data movement and improve efficiency. The candidate will not only lead the research and innovation for these problem domains but also drive prototyping and development of technologies and solutions to demonstrate the benefits and tradeoffs. The work will involve collaboration with internal IL researchers, BU partners, and stakeholders and also require strategic discussions with potential customers. The candidate will also have opportunities to publish their work in top-tier academic journals/conferences as well as internal forums within Intel.

The ideal candidate should exhibit the following capabilities and behavioral traits:
* Self-driven leader with experience in driving innovation from concept to product
* Provide technical and strategic leadership in the memory/storage architecture
* Identify system architecture trends driven by emerging use cases, workloads, and customer collaborations
* Define and propose pathfinding projects to identify (HW and SW) technologies
* Team player, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external partners
* Strong communication and leadership skills for both technical and strategic discussions
* Lead and mentor senior technical leaders and Engineers in the extended orgs to deliver projects

Responsibilities:
Driving innovative solutions for memory and storage architectures to address the needs of future workloads and infrastructure
Leading a virtual team to drive the innovations from concept to prototyping to tech readiness and product intercept
Working with IL and BU partners to influence and guide future directions in research and development


Qualifications

Experience Required:
* 10+ years of industry experience including direct experience in memory and storage architectures and HW/SW interfaces.
* Experience in research and/or pathfinding for future technologies.
* Experience in interfaces, standards (including de facto), and programming models with new memory/storage technologies
* Strong understanding of datacenter and/or edge infrastructure including memory/storage architectures
* Ability to interface successfully and build effective working relationships across organizations.
* Ability to publish high-quality research in internal and external conferences/journals

Qualifications:
Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent required. MS or Ph.D. Preferred.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in US, Colorado:
$201,640.00-$322,920.00

Work Model for this Role

This role is available as fully home-based and generally would require you to attend Intel sites only occasionally based on business need.
