Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the microphone system engineering design of all the Harman Life-style division product, such as smart speaker, headphone and smart home system.
• Develop microphone system technology, product prototypes and manufacturing processes to aid external based on Harman internal or 3rd party’s solutions and technologies.
• Monitor and evaluate new microphone component/system technologies which is suitable for voice communication, voice recognition and high quality recording etc.,
• Analyze Harman internal projects’ and external customers’ requirements and specifications to propose the appropriate solutions to award the project and execute the engineering function on mic part through the full program cycle
• Work with projects team leaders and PM to solve the engineering issues.
• Establish and coordinate activities with third party developers and contractors to build up the microphone system technology.
• Communicate with peers inside the HARMAN Consumer Audio Product group for product development. This includes occasional travel for training or coordination with other groups and suppliers to HMM.
• Participate in internal and customer driven design reviews throughout product development program life cycles.

Basic Qualifications:

• Master or above degree in Electrical Engineering, Acoustics, Computer Science or equivalent.
• 10+ years acoustics engineering background experience.
• 5+ years team lead and management experience.
• Working knowledge of acoustics telecommunications, including various types of microphone systems, speaker systems, wideband telecommunications, voice recognition and recording technology.
• Must have acoustic analysis and debugging capability using software tools like Soundtrack, Audition, Matlab, Audiomulch and on
• Familiarity with various NBS/WBS acoustic telecommunication standards. Like TIA810/920,3GPP,Skype
• Solid experience on MEMS or ECM mic design and application. Familiar with various new Mic technology.
• Working knowledge of voice algorithm like AEC, NR, DOA, beamforming. .
• Ability to read schematics and debug analog and digital hardware interface like I2S, PDM, TDM etc
• Experience on Microphone array design to reduce coupling, vibration, sealing is plus.
• Able to use acoustic lab equipment such as Acqua, Soundtrack, Artificial mouth, B&K equipment etc
• Experience on Google GVA, Amazon AVS or Microsoft Skype/Cortana test are preferred.
• Experience on Smart speaker mic system design and acoustic system validation are plus
• Experience on microphone/speaker acoustic simulation is plus.
• Experience on microphone production line management is preferred.
• Able to communicate with customers and have capability to promote the solution to customer with sales.
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
