Summary:
Manages team of process engineers responsible for supporting manufacturing production through troubleshooting to determine root cause and possible engineering solutions. Identify and implement improvements around current manufacturing processes. Executes the innovation and development of assigned project elements with an emphasis on the manufacturing process, technology and procedures required for the manufacture of new products. Uses latest engineering techniques to reduce product time to market whilst adhering to regulatory requirements, project deadlines and product costs. Focus on elevating the technical resources to drive improvements within the operations team, providing closer partnership with external resources to address potential issues and offer solutions at earlier stages in the product life cycle. Supports new business development, new technologies, and capital projects involving process equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Lead processing engineering team to drive improvement efforts to support site goals
- Meet with team members weekly for coaching and development
- Manage prioritization of process engineering projects
- Support troubleshooting and issue resolution for major equipment breakdowns
- Serve as primary point of contact as the equipment and process subject matter expert for requests outside of operations to support capital equipment investments, new product development, product proposals and quotes.
- Analyze operational equipment and maintenance data to drive engineering solutions to support cost reduction, quality, safety, and operational efficiencies.
- Provide engineering support for new product and process introductions
- Assist in selection components for capital equipment investments
- Drive PPI mindset with teams to identify and execute on projects and cost savings initiatives
- Influence, coach, and develop team members
- Work closely with maintenance and reliability to align on data driven decisions to improve equipment up time
- Support operations and manufacturing support through troubleshooting efforts
- Capable of interfacing with customers and external clients to explain technical challenges and propose solutions
Education:
Bachelors or Associates Degree in Engineering Preferred (industrial, manufacturing, electrical and mechanical engineering)
Experience:
- Bachelor of Science in appropriate engineering discipline (ex: Chemical, Mechanical, Biomedical)
- 5+ years previous related experience in engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, and process equipment
Equivalency:
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and relevant work experience may be considered.

- Self-starter with demonstrated efficient work methods, analytical & problem solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment.

- Experience in an FDA regulated or regulated industry beneficial.
- High level of PC Skills required.
