Job Description

Education:  BS Chemical Engineering

Years of Experience: >8 years in process engineering

Core Work:

•Provide technical direction and support to the Operating Areas

•Responsible for self-directed, generation and implementation of proactive improvement projects. Competencies:

•Strong technical skills

•Detailed knowledge of the processes

•Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

•Good communication skills

Accountabilities – Provide Leadership to:

•Monitor technical performance of the Complex Operating Areas

•Self-directed resolution of technical issues to reach safety, production, and quality targets

•Generate proactive improvement projects and ensure project completion

•Foster strong cooperation between TR, Engineering, Maintenance, and Operations personnel

•Provide coaching/mentoring of Complex Operations Engineers and TR Engineers

•Owner of process manuals

Key Activities:

•Monitor, interpret and act upon technical parameters

•Track OEE, raw material utilizations, and factory costs and work in self directed manner to gain continuous improvement

•Own HBr, bromine, caustic utilizations

•Cost reduction/Area improvement project generation

•Approve MOCs in areas of expertise

•Provide technical support during turnarounds and resolution of process upsets

•Lead design/implementation of complex large capital projects

Critical Partnerships:

Operations Engineer –

•Coach/mentor/monitor performance

•Work together to resolve Complex wide utilization issues

TR Engineers—

•Provide feedback/insight for cost reduction, new product, and expansion projects

•Partner on technical trouble shooting issues

Engineering – Key contact for large capital projects

Business Teams – Respond to technical requests

Key Performance Indicators:

•75% of time spent on proactive tasks

•RM Utilizations at budget

•Complex OEE at target rate

•Production and quality targets met

•Capital projects completed on time, on budget
