Job Description
  • General Responsibilities:
  • Lead specific categories for indirect sourcing area in affiliate, includes – identify the sourcing opportunities for the category, develop sourcing strategy, provide guidance for supplier relationship management, facilitate business in supplier performance management and supplier risk management on regular basis etc.
  • Develop effective methods and messages (eg. communication plan) to provide procurement services to the best value of the business under a strong relationship
  • Ensure agreed objectives and decisions in category management and sourcing projects between key stakeholders and procurement.
  • Execute major projects thru supplier pre-qualification/qualification (Due-diligence), supplier selection, negotiation and contract management to ensure true competitive advantage received in quality, service as well as price.
  • Identify opportunities with potential savings to meet affiliate saving targets
  • Provide guidance and educate business function in supplier relationship management. Review supplier performance on a regular basis to ensure compliance with terms and conditions of contract and where necessary take appropriate action to meet the business objectives.
  • Guide business functions to identify and evaluate major suppliers with high risks and assist in mitigation plans for risk controls.
  • Develop and mine supply base for responsible categories to meet business objectives and where necessary to take a lead in supplier consolidation.
  • Conduct benchmarking with external market and industry’s best practices to drive solutions for products, processes and services improvement.
  • Contribute to the continuous development and improvement of Procurement practices, procedures and systems to reduce costs and increase efficiency by simplifying business processesP.
  • artnership with Legal, Compliance and Finance team to ensure procurement work executed with full compliance in Lilly policies and local laws and regulations.
  • Remain highest ethics standards as member of procurement team

Knowledge & Skills:
  • Knowledge of procurement systems, processes and procedures; analytical and negotiation skills and techniques; project management skills and solution-oriented mindset in a cross functional environment; management of major procurement projects; excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal interactions skills.
  • Good knowledge of the total cost of ownership to improve business cases
  • Ability to influence key internal stakeholders with a strong emphasis on relationship building
  • Excellent Change Management skills
  • Demonstrated achievement of results including savings generation, improvements to supplier relationships, improvements in product quality and service delivery desired.
  • Excellent languages skills (English is a must)

Qualification:
  • Bachelors in Accounting, Business, Economics or Science required.
  • Graduate degree in MBA or equivalent preferred
  • A minimum of 8 years of professional working experiences in multinational companies in finance, business or procurement. Experience in procurement in in-direct sourcing is preferred but not required.
