BASIC FUNCTION

Water heater product expertise support on the overall new water heater development, responsible for new water heater product launch on quality, time and cost.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. New product development and introduction

• Responsible for water heater project management, develop and management project plan, working with partener and other team members to deliver the product on the plan and commitments

• Responsible for feasibility study and product concept proposals based on marketing spec and product industrial designs, including product feature list, technical feasibility, manufacturing ability, product cost, capital and expense investment, time line, quality and reliability goal, risk analysis and action registers

• Product expertise support to product marketing on the product define, support to industrial designers on the concepts, support to sourcing on supplier selection and evaluation

• Water heater industry development trends study, new product and technology competition analysis

• Mock up samples and engineering prototypes for design verification

• Responsible for the product overall design, develop and release related engineering documents, including, Item/BOM, 2D/3D drawings, technical specifications, test and verification plan, user manuals, etc.,

• Responsible for product design verification and production validation, including, FMEA/DFM/DFA/QTP/VTP, etc.,

• Intellectual property protection study and patents initiate

2. Product Engineering:

• Design change, management and execute design changes for the water heaters, responsible for ECNs from initiation to execution

• Problem resolving, working with supplier, sourcing and quality on the product problem resolving, responsible for root cause analysis, correction action plan and execution

• Product consultant, answer customer queries on the product technical related, provide technical documents per needs

• Support on the product training and marketing promotion activities
  

RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS

• Reports to AD – Engineering, Water Filtration.

• Located in shanghai office.

• Frequent contact with the industry designer, marketing, sourcing, quality and test engineers

• External contacts with end-customer, and OEM partner or suppliers.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

1. Bachelor or above, mechanical engineering, mechanical and electrical integration, or similar

2. 5 years plus working experiences on water heater industry, and 3 years above on gas water heater design and development, at least one new product launched in the market successfully

3. Proficiency in Pro-E, AutoCAD and familiar with other drawing software, also be familiar with the office software

4. Familiar with standards and regulatory related to gas/electrical water heaters

5. Project management experience is preferred.

6. Good speaking and writing skills in Mandarin to effectively convey information, express opinions, English level should be passed CET-4 at least.

7. Willing to business trip frequently in China.
