Job Description
Eaton’s Aerospace ITD division is currently seeking a Sr. Quality System Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Tijuana facility. The Sr. Quality System Engineer is responsible for drives the development and implementation of the Eaton Quality Management System, Quality Best Practices & Eaton Quality Lead Indicators. Ensures that Quality policies and procedures regarding all aspects of quality assurance and improvement are rigidly adhered during all design and manufacturing processes, including supplier quality. Provides support when engaging with PROLaunch transfer and NPD process ensuring compliance to all Aerospace regulatory and customer requirements. Develop and implement plans to achieve operation and group quality goals. Ensure compliance to customer quality requirements and acts as principle contact for customer on quality issues. Manage Corrective Action (CAPAS) , Internal and External Audit schedules and compliance, acts as principal support to ensure document control of all procedures are adhered to the quality management system. Some activities related with the position will be: Ensures that process needed for the Quality Management System are established, implemented, and maintained, based in requirements of AS9100, AS9102, EQS, and any other customer or regulatory requirements. Establishes objectives, policies, and procedures for Tijuana quality control activities. Ensure the promotion, awareness and deployment of internal, customer, and regulatory requirements throughout the Tijuana organization, including deployment of Eaton Business tools to improve business effectiveness (EQS, ELSS, WISPER, MESH, PROLaunch, etc) Ensure the implementation and sustain of the Quality Lead Indicators, including the Quality Best Practices. Works closely with local and plant ME and QE functions to ensure smooth transition of new product designs into the manufacturing gates (NPD and STP) including engagement in data analysis, Process Capability, FMEA, Control Plans, PPAP. Assists QM in obtaining, maintaining, and improving appropriate customer and regulatory approvals (i.e. QMS certification, NADCAP process certification, FAA, etc) including ensuring organizational readiness for customer, third party, and regulatory assessments. Coordinate the Document Control department and the implementation of the manufacturing and engineering changes through all the organization. Ensure the Documentation Retention Program process is being followed by all departments in the organization through Document Management System. Coordinate a provide trainings according with the needs to the Calibration team. Consistently align procedures vs actual processes to make sure all requirements are being aligned. Support in the developing of master list of all calibration equipment necessary for the organization. Implement 5’s and lean methodologies for the Document Control and Calibration areas. Establish programs, policies and procedures to evaluate precision, accuracy and capability of processes, products, production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities. Assist all value stream maps with development and implementation of corrective and preventive action plans to improve overall ISO compliance and quality results. Ensure applicability of current quality policies, procedures and objectives by keeping informed of the latest updates/ modifications related to ISO an AS9100.. Support the development and administration of the customer corrective and preventative action (CAPA), internal non-conformance and and Layered Proces Audits (LPA). Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: 5 to 10 years of experience in Quality Engineering environment, specially in quality systems and document control. Bachelor's degree . Knowledge of Aerospace Regulatory Environment, NADCAP processes, ISO9001 - AS9100. Knowledge of Advance Quality Planning - APQP Knowledge of First Article inspection Process – AS9102. Strong communication skills. Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems standards and Aerospace Regulatory Requirements Understanding of cost and financial impacts Preferred Qualifications: Eaton Greenbelt Certification. Advanced Knowledge of the Eaton PROLaunch NPD and STP Process as well as DFSS ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (or European Equiv.).
