Day to Day Responsibilities:

Design, Track China glass trends and emerging technology;

Develop the innovative glass fabrication process;

Build understanding on glass manufacturing process and identify manufacturing quality improvement opportunities;

Explore glass application in industries and identify the technology needs;

Support customer problem solving;

Build liaison with global RDE team, especially glass R&D groups in US and Europe;

Actively file IP and write Internal Reports.

Education & Experience

MS with >3yr experience or higher degree in materials science, chemical engineering, geology or equivalent

>2yrs experience in glass area

Required Skills

Experienced in glass research or glass industry

Experienced in lab-scale, pilot and volume manufacturing processes used in fabrication of glass;

Fundamental knowledge of the chemistry, raw materials, properties (mechanical, physical, chemical, etc), and characterization methods used to understand advanced complex glasses.

Able to provide guidance on glass selection or development needs for advanced applications;

Self-motivated and able to drive technical solutions with minimal direction;

The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly

Creative/innovative problem solving

Good at hands-on experimentation, project leadership

Effective communication and presentation skills to all levels in the organization

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skill (both oral and written)

Can establish a broad network across the technology organizations and glass industry;

Good presentation and technical writing
