The Senior Sales Manager, Producr Specialists is responsible for leading a team of 14 Water Specialist Sales Representatives across North America to achieve revenue growth and profitability objectives. This role is also responsible for creating and implementing strategies and tactical plans in line with the divisional and territory goals. The Senior Sales Manager, Water Specialists works closely with the LPD (Laboratory Products Division) Senior Commercial Director, assigned specialists, other commercial managers, and the Water and Lab Product (WLP) Business Unit management team to drive customer satisfaction and optimize revenue growth. The Senior Sales Manager is accountable for the monitoring, analysis and reporting of sales performance for his/her team as a whole on a regular basis.
The candidate should be located near any major US airport for North American coverage.
What will you do:
- Develop and execute annual sales plan which aligns to and delivers assigned revenue targets
- Adjust planning as needed to reflect market trends and mitigate business risks to ensure revenue targets are met
- Maintain contact database for customers, channel partners, and industry associates
- Build and maintain a sales pipeline which is sufficient to exceed monthly and quarterly goals; utilize available tools to maintain and report as required
- Manages and coordinates the efforts of the Americas Commercial selling team responsible for Water & Lab Products (Lab, Process and Water Purification)
- Protect & Grow Core Markets (Power and Municipal Markets) – focus on share gain and incremental YoY growth
- Drive and influence sales activities of manufacturer’s representatives contracted to sell Thermo Scientific Process products through cooperative sales planning, goal setting, providing technical and application support, and training to the channel partner and their customers
- Review sales channel performance and implement changes where necessary including new assignments to maximize market access and footprint
- Organize product demonstration and technical sessions with the channel partners to optimize product exposure to end-users
- Identify and develop a direct relationship with key growth customers, with a focus on developing multiple points of contact across the organization including at the senior level and key purchasing stakeholders
- Access High Growth Adjacent Markets (Industrial, Food & Beverage, Environmental)
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Bioscience, or Business
- 5+ years’ experience in direct sales and/or marketing
- 5+ years’ experience in direct people management preferred, or strong demonstrated leadership skills
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to draw conclusions and observations from market trends and unit analysis
- Broad knowledge of multi-functional, multi-site, global organizational processes and financial business methods
- Process Management Skills
- Channel experience preferred
- Travel up to 60%
