The Opportunity

The ThunderX® product family provides the best-in-class 64-bit ARMv8 Data Center & Cloud Processors, offering unprecedented level of integration and industry leading SoC performance. With high-performance custom cores, singleand dual-socket configurations, very high memory bandwidth, large memory capacity, integrated hardware accelerators, fully virtualized core and IO and feature rich I/Os that enable best in class performance/$ and performance/watt.

• Work closely with Marvell’s SW Engineering team on driving Server processor BU platform software requirements (e.g. diagnostics SW, UEFI/BIOS SW, Server Management SW etc.) and necessary SW architecture into their development plan. •

• In conjunction with Server processor BU SW team, develop and drive platform SW development plans for Marvell’s customer reference platforms.

• Identify and drive key third party platform SW engagements

• Help Marvell’s large end user customers, OEMs and ODMs to leverage Marvell developed, open source and third party platform SW into their platforms based on ThunderX.

• Help develop key vertical solutions for applications such as Hadoop, Social Media Data Analysis, Web Front end, Media streaming using ThunderX platforms.

• Develop detailed documentations, white papers around Marvell platform software.

• Work closely with FAE team on providing bring up and debug support to customers. Train FAEs to support platform SW

• Ideal candidate has experience with modern server architecture and platform SW software development including embedded and server applications. Linux kernel debug/performance analysis related experience is preferred. Bootloader and UEFI related experience are optional.

• Experience in bring up and verification of server platforms including DDR memory systems, PCIE, Ethernet, Storage (SAS/SATA) etc. is highly desirable.

• Hands-on experience in embedded and server SW development using C and C++, creating documentation and collateral materials

• Linux OS, including kernel module (driver) development and application development is highly desirable. –

• Multi-tasker with ability to efficiently support parallel efforts (customer issues, prototyping/architecture, implementation, etc.).

• Ability to write and debug code to run on processors with or without an OS, to develop technical focused collaterals including demos, whitepapers, design guides, reference architectures and application notes, provide assistance with RFI, RFPs, etc

• Good understanding of networking and hands-on experience on compilers, tool chains, and debuggers for Linux development

• Experience with GNU/Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian etc.

• Familiarity with open-source project development cycles and contribution processes

• Effective interpersonal, teamwork, and demonstrate good analysis and problem-solving skills.

• Grounded, detail-oriented, always backs up ideas with facts.

• Strong initiative, self-starter and highly motivated Education BSCS or equivalent 5+ years’ experience in software development including embedded and server applications
