Clearing, Markets & Issuer Services Technology (CMIST) is responsible for application development and support for more than 350 critical business systems including Repo Edge (collateral management), Enterprise Payment Hub (multi-currency payment processing), and Broker Dealer Clearance (securities clearing).

Treasury Services Technology (TST) within CMIST leads the development and maintenance of state-of-the-art technology solutions for the Treasury Services business. TST is aligned with the business into five sub-segments including: Global Payments, Information & Liquidity, Payments and Receivables, Enterprise Financial Messaging (EFM) and Trade Services. Because of TST’s industry-leading solutions, BNY Mellon is the first bank to participate in Real-Time Payments processing and provide full transparency into the status of payments.

 
  • Engage in incident management by providing support by analyzing, escalating, communicating and working to resolve production problems and operational issues when they occur
  • Maintain, enhance and develop new documentation covering operational support procedures, trouble shooting guides, incident management plans and risk events
  • Ensure system availability and operational continuity by using and socializing monitoring tools 24 x 7 and onboard additional functionalities within the monitoring tools
  • Ensure system resiliency by participating in the planning and execution of component and site failover tests conducted throughout the year
  • Interact with various auditing entities and information system security officers proving evidence of compliance to best practices, standards and adherences to processes
  • Develop technical expertise with the business applications and supporting infrastructure used to communicate with the SWIFT network as well as the routing and transformation of messages within the financial messaging suite of applications
  • Collaborate and seek out and implement improvement opportunities and operational efficiencies across the support lines

Sr. Specialist Appl Support Analyst->> Maintains and supports moderately complex applications and their operating environments. Provides technical and/or business guidance to the SCM team as well as other groups. Ensures projects are meeting plans and objectives. Analyzes system requirements. Reviews and evaluates project plans and objectives to ensure they meet system needs. Monitors changes to applications and their operating environment. Analyzes any issues of high complexity. Provides application support input with regard to SCM activities. Interacts directly with clients regarding project activities. Applies effective project management methodologies and control techniques. Recommends technical solutions on application problems. Reviews and develops updates of contingency documentation and processes. Contributes to the achievement of area objectives. 

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering, Management Information Systems and 7+ years of experience in IT/Business analysis or Operational Support or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to facilitate discussion around complex issues and bring them to resolution by building consensus including proper escalation and communication
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision making skills with an ability to remain poised and make difficult decisions in a timely manner
  • Ability to think clearly when confronted with critical production issues
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and drive a team as well as contribute independently to work effectively
  • Demonstrated sound logic and insights; is widely recognized as a leading subject matter expert in their support area
  • Proven ability to understand complex application architectures and business process flows facilitated by distributed applications residing on multi-tiered disparate networks infrastructures; Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly and train junior staff on the same
  • Strong organizational, written and communication skills
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime as required to support critical Production Operations
  • Ability to interact with various levels of staff and management and maintain effective working relationships across multiple organizational entities
  • Demonstrated experience supporting critical distributed systems in a correspondent banking environment. Technical experience would ideally include a technical background in:
    • SWIFT communications and formats
    • 2 factor authentication protocols using PKI or Illumio or similar
    • General experience working with IBM’s WebSphere Application server, IBM MQ and related messaging services
    • General experience working with Oracle databases, database objects including developing and executing SQL queries
Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, advanced degree is beneficial, 8-10 years of diverse experience in multiple areas of information technology required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
