Job Description
Guides risk management efforts for the assigned credit risk focus, such as Credit and Loan Analysis, Loan Level Restructuring, Classification, and Reporting, Portfolio Reporting and Collection Management. Responsible for the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of documentation and reporting completed by data providers from across the Firm and third party loan servicers used by Senior Management and various Bank reporting groups. Ensures each portfolio is adhering to the risk management strategy of the assigned credit risk discipline or contributes to the development of strategies to ensure compliance with complex, regulatory and policy requirements. Contributes to the global identification of existing and emerging risks that are applicable to the assigned credit risk discipline and implements solutions. Ensures the proper documentation is completed when strategy changes are made. Works with internal professionals, managers and outside counsel in completing legal documentation processes in connection with loan restructurings and foreclosures. Oversees third party loan servicer activities. Independently completes drafts of complex documentation for review by more senior professionals. Approves and oversees a moderate quantity of complex credit processing, collection and credit assessment activities. Reviews credit processing and account assessment activities completed by less experienced professionals for accuracy and may advise on improvements. Anticipates and identifies developing loan credit issues with past due borrowers and escalates to more senior Credit Recovery and Asset Recovery managers. Reviews ratings and loan level assessments produced by less experienced professionals for accuracy and advises on improvements. Manages and provides input on the Credit Risk's policies and procedures. Interpret and analyze regulatory requirements that require new or revisions to policy. Contributes to the preparation of credit proposals, preparing documentation and financial spreads. Expertly uses credit systems such as the credit borrower rating system and credit approval system. Resolves complex system issues and frequently provides input on credit system best practices. Demonstrates expert knowledge when reviewing real estate appraisals for commercial and residential properties. Proactively checks appraisal policies and procedures for consistency with the Bank's risk appetite and for compliance with various complex regulatory requirements. May recommend policy and procedure improvements. Frequently advises less experienced professionals on compliance improvements. Independently completes analyses of existing and proposed legislation, regulatory announcements and industry practices that are applicable to the assigned credit risk discipline in order to contribute to the organization's implementation of procedures to meet existing and upcoming credit management requirements specific to each region. Reviews analysis activities completed by more junior professionals. Contributes to the development of organization-wide projects and programs to improve risk management for the assigned risk discipline. Implements discipline-specific risk education activities, as directed. Implements new, approved Credit Analysis & Reporting, Collection, Past Due Account Management, Research and Credit Administration risk management solutions that comply with regulatory requirements. May delegate improvement activities to more junior professionals. No direct reports. Provides guidance to more junior team members and assigns tasks including preparation of ad hoc reports and completion of special projects for Senior Management. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Family Requirements: 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Prior experience/background in risk reporting, bank systems and past due loan collections preferred. In addition, may require the following experience/skills based on primary duties: Discipline Requirements: Credit Analysis & Approval/Portfolio Management: Formal credit training preferred. Ability to assist with the management of a variety of Private Banking loans, third party servicers, foreclosure processes, bankruptcies and/or OREO assets.
