Sr. Specialist Developer – Java, J2EE, Spring, RESTFUL

The successful Java developer will have experience delivering multiple projects.  They will have strong knowledge and Expertise in Java, J2EE technologies and hands on experience working on latest versions.  Good knowledge on OOPS, code refactoring, coding standards & design patterns and should also have strong knowledge Spring Framework, RESTFUL services, microservices

Consults with internal business groups to provide appropriate application software development services or technical support.

Analyzes, defines and documents requirements for data, workflow, logical processes, hardware and operating system environment, interfaces with other systems, internal and external checks, controls, and outputs using BNY Mellon's standard development methodology.

Works with internal business groups on implementation opportunities, challenges, and requirements of various applications.

Analyzes information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group.

Contributes to defining time tables and project plans.

Analyzes and estimates feasibility, cost, time, and compatibility with hardware and other programs.

Takes lead for establishing, implementing and monitoring 'best practices' for technical development methodologies and tools.

Proposes innovative, creative technology solution and contributes to the achievement of area objectives.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in computer science engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required, 8-10 years of experience in software development required, experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.

• Strong knowledge and Expertise in Java, J2EE technologies and hands on experience working on latest versions.

• Should have good knowledge on OOPS, code refactoring, coding standards & design patterns

• Should have strong knowledge Spring Framework, RESTFUL services, microservices

• Should have knowledge of ORM framework. Familiarity with SQL and working knowledge of RDBMS ( ORACLE / MS SQL /PostgreSQL )

• Should have experience on designing/solutioning complex modules

• Nice to have experience working with DevOps and continuous integration process and tools like Jenkins / Hudson, GIT, Maven, etc

• Familiarity with application monitoring and reporting, containerization

• Nice to have experience on Test Driven Development

• Excellent troubleshooting skills

• Effective Technical support and mentoring for junior developers

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
