Job Description
The Global Operations and Technology Office (GOTO) is responsible for the global processes that enable BNY Mellon to run Global Operations and Technology as a business with the strategic, operating, and risk disciplines that ensure we set ambitious objectives and achieve our key results. Within the GOT organization, embedded Comms and Engagement Leads who are aligned to the business work to position senior leaders to lead, elevate the BNY Mellon brand, transform people and culture, connect Global Operations and Technology, and amplify market awareness. As the GOTO Comms and Engagement Lead you will be responsible for supporting GOT communications and engagement initiatives and will be a member of the GOTO central team. You will oversee the Employee Engagement Team in GOTO and partner closely with Human Resources, Corporate Communications, and Marketing. You will report to the Head of GOT Internal Relations. Executive Communications: Leads the GOTO Comms and Engagement Function and serves as the key liaison to the Global Operations and Technology (GOT) Relations organization Develops strategic and key narratives for GOT in close partnership with Corporate Communications and Marketing Creates the framework for deployment of messaging, and governs content and flow to drive penetration, continuity, transparency, and understanding within the organization, partnering with the Head of GOT Internal Relations and Head of GOT External Relations Oversees and professionalizes the GOT executive brand and elevates the organization's executive reporting in alignment with GOT Relations and GOTO standards Internal Communications & People Experience: Serves as a member of the GOT Relations Comms & Engagement Forum–attending all relevant meetings, ensuring organizational representation Deploys strategic messages and organizational announcements for GOTO Develops internal and external Thought Leadership, intentionally evangelizing our stories of transformation, innovation, and development Produces content for the GOTWire, which is the destination for GOT news to drive awareness of engagement Supports Comms and Events calendar for GOTO Supports the Head of GOT Internal Relations to elevate experts in org-wide events such as Lunch and Learns and Fireside Chats Reports on comms and events analytics, gleaning insights to drive strategic/intentional comms Co-creates and operationalizes the GOT People Experience strategy in GOTO, partnering with HR to drive cultural transformation Utilizes employee listening and engagement analytics (Peakon) to drive Employee Engagement Assists with GOT recognition and awards (WOW/Best in Class) External Communications: Partners with the Head of GOT External Relations to identify key opportunities in the industry to shine a light on the leadership, initiatives and innovations Manages external relations support (media, interviews, speaking engagements, social) in partnership with Head of GOT External Relations and Corporate Communications Support the database management of industry opportunities for external awards and conferences and drives award submissions Qualifications Ability to create vision and strategy, but also, and equally important to carry through to execution – thinkers and doers Proactive and self-motivated to work ahead of deadlines, doing what it takes to do the job well and above expectation Strong written and verbal communication Attention to detail and deep organizational skills Ability to work independently or with a team Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of experience preferred. 10+ years of total work experience preferred Executive presentation and reporting experience Experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus Experience with internal and external outreach, social media and collaboration tools is preferred Background in a corporate or agency communications setting is a plus.
