How will you make an impact?
Our Sr. Specialty Diagnostics Specialist is responsible for the sales of clinical diagnostics products and services primarily by using the telephone; but also using email, videoconferencing, and other technologies within a defined territory. The Sr. Specialty Diagnostics Specialist is responsible for serving customers engaged specifically in the clinical diagnostics sector. The Sr. Specialty Diagnostics Specialist maintains effective customer relations, develops opportunities for growth within a new and existing customer base, and assures market penetration growth and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. Additionally, the Specialty Diagnostics Specialist will serve as a key liaison between the Healthcare Market salesforce and the Specialty Diagnostics commercial and marketing teams to ensure continued training and effectiveness of the Healthcare Market sales team across the diagnostics portfolio.
 
What will you do?
  • Develop and maintain effective customer relations with lab managers and end users within assigned territory
  • Independently make decisions, but also utilize available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional team of supplier and internal resources; seeks out broader relationships within the account to help facilitate networking and prospecting.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to expand business with new customers within assigned territory; maintain a pipeline of opportunities to meet or exceed sales objectives
  • Perform sales calls with all customers and potential customers in the assigned territory primarily by phone, but face-to-face customer meetings may be required
  • Support multiple sales representatives by providing information specific to our diagnostics portfolio, including technical information, product recommendations for customer applications, and other technical support
  • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data in the business plan
  • Facilitate the introduction of new products and services within the assigned product portfolio
  • Manage pricing within territory to control profitability
  • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory
  • Positively represent Thermo Fisher Scientific at all times throughout customer locations
How will you get here?
Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the sciences, M.S. preferred or equivalent work experience
 
Experience:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 6+ years of sales experience, preferably in the clinical / diagnostics laboratory industry
  • Strong technical and lab experience in clinical diagnostics testing
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and presentation skills
  • Proven record of establishing goals and achieving results
  • Computer communication proficiency in MS Office and MS Teams
  • Must possess a strong desire to serve the customer
  • Must possess the organizational skills to multi-task and meet deadlines as needed
  • Must be willing to travel to customer locations, if needed
