How will you make an impact?

The role will drive the culture of Practical Process Improvement(PPI) Business System within Instrument & Enterprise Services(IES) division focused on Instrument Services business. The role is to enable profitable growth, intensify customer experience and increase employee engagement. The position collaborates with key stakeholders to drive a culture of continuous improvement initiatives, lead projects and Kaizen events by deploying structure problem solving to improve systems and processes to eliminate waste.

What will you do?

  • Diplomatically cultivate an action-based culture of continuous improvement to improve KPIs, in the areas of customer, finance, people and quality for the IES.

  • Manage Productivity Initiatives Pipelines to ensure Actual versus Target is regularly reported to key

  • Facilitate transformation efforts (Kaizen, VSM, Projects) to deliver Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and Profit & Loss (P&L) improvement results.

  • Monitor progress of improvement efforts and develop plans to address shortcomings

  • Measure and report on key performance indicators (leading and lagging) at the site level; develop and implement effective corrective action plans in conjunction with Site and PPI managers to address any areas of concern

  • Establish and mature the Lean Management System (tiered daily management systems, KPI leadership, Gemba walks, other PPI/LEAN tools and other coaching tools to transform the culture.

  • Conduct PPI/LEAN training for leadership and employee (where required)

  • Communicate success stories and manage knowledge of Continuous Improvement charter

  • Provide ‘Sensei-type’ coaching to leadership, employees and representatives to develop their PPI/Lean expertise over time.

  • Identify ways to accelerate the culture change necessary to support the PPI business system

  • Challenge organizational leaders as necessary to create an action-based culture of continuous

  • improvement and accountability to improve KPI’s, including growth, productivity, inventory, and customer allegiance.

How will you get here?
Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years’ experience in a non-manufacturing environment preferred

  • A Lean Practitioner with experience and a ‘hands-on’ track record of implementing successful LEAN

  • Leadership (Daily Management, KPI leadership, Leader Standard Work, and Gemba Walks) in non-manufacturing business.

  • Lean Six Sigma and Project Management Certification preferred.
  • Experience managing a continuous improvement program across multi-site Business Unit or Division
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement sustainable improvements within the organization.
  • 2+ years of experience in an operational excellence capacity with demonstrated experience utilizing lean tools on a specific project and influencing cross-functional stakeholders preferred
  • Commercial business orientation/financial acumen.
  • Strong influencing skills
  • Strong facilitation and presentation skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to apply, teach, and coach teams on the use of Lean Six Sigma concepts of Visual Management, 5S, root cause analysis, value stream mapping, FMEA, Pareto charts, and histograms
  • Passion for driving improvement and leading change
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time nationally/internationally
