Job Title : Sr. Supervisor, Demand Management

Location : Preferred location Lake Forest, IL. Hybrid or Remote is available

Reporting to the Sr. Supply Chain Manager, Sr. Supervisor will manage the development of demand forecasts in anticipation of customer needs and observing our sales and service goals. Will also manage Demand Planners and responsible to support Toxicology yearly revenue of ~$700MM

Sr. Supervisor will direct the review of historical sales trends and forecasts and review statistical forecast models and evaluates forecast results also maintains and manages product history, forecasts and promotional demand. Sr. Supervisor will coordinate communication with sales, marketing, finance, procurement, supply planning and other departments to ensure that current, accurate data are available for forecasts.

Sr. Supervisor will have a direct report to manage.

Scope: Large, more complex portfolio or equivalent number of brands.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops initial forecast modeling based on historical data and causal factors. Evaluates impact of promotional strategy on the forecast of major vendor account, including product placement, various promotion types, acquisition methods, etc. and make recommendations to meet margin and profit goals.

  • Loads and maintains the demand forecast into the appropriate system.

  • Develops new product launch plans (including phase ins and phase outs) with input and collaboration from selling divisions, production, marketing, R&D and regulatory; works with Supply Chain Manager for production plan.

  • Facilitate monthly S&OP forecast consensus process

  • Schedules and ensures proper attendance for Demand S&OP Review meeting. Prepares data and graph in support of the monthly Demand Review meeting.

  • Supports Sr. Supply Chain Manager in the monthly Executive S&OP review by providing the required S&OP slides with assumptions for key decisions

  • Strong project management skills with experience delivering complex projects

  • Responsible for developing & managing the long-term forecast volume to assure proper inventory levels of products to support the business and satisfy customer demand.

  • Leads cross functional meetings to ensure key stakeholders provide feedback and updates which could influence finished goods demands.

  • Systematically identify and reconcile discrepancies and close gaps among inputs on an ongoing basis

  • Meets weekly with supply planners to discuss key in-stock and inventory issues, focus areas for the week and extended timeframes.

  • Work with production planning and deployment to transfer/translate consensus forecasts for operational purposes

  • Ensure successful customer promotion execution through effective planning and leverage of important customer event inputs

  • Track monthly forecast error results versus established targets and identify and report on cause for forecast misses

  • Lead LBE and Budget by collaborating with Commercial in generating forecasting volume, capturing drivers/assumptions. Ensure linkage to monthly volume forecast as part of financial forecasting process

  • Establish annual forecast accuracy targets & develop actions to meet the forecast accuracy target of 85%-115%

  • Coordinates and supports new product launches and retirements.

  • Assume a lead role in the use & maintenance of ATLAS Demand Planning application; manages the master data set up

  • Manage junior demand planners ; mentors new demand planners ; provides system training

  • Work across peer group to participate in major process improvement activities

  • Support ongoing improvements in ATLAS and other systems

  • Reviews criteria for new product numbers requests, sets up and maintains master data, applies safety stocks and adds forecast into ATLAS.

  • Promote forecast process improvements to improve forecast error

  • Serves as team leader in projects that are cross functional in nature

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Business, Statistics or related field

  • 8+ years healthcare/CPG products forecasting or supply chain operations experience

  • Prefer statistical knowledge

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Exposure to S&OP processes, customer planning or supply planning

  • Experience with any forecasting application or supply chain planning software

  • Experience leading projects

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills both written and oral

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of tools

  • Ability to train, coach and lead a team in common processes and drive standardized planning methods.
