Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Participate in developing and implementing manufacturing processes washing/ cleaning process for different products
• Lead/ support experimentation of process development for new production line of washing/ cleaning/ surface treatment
• Lead/ support experimentation to drive fundamental understanding of washing/ cleaning / surface treatment process
• Improve existing production line. ex. Cycle time reduction, quality/yield improvement, new product introducing. Identify low cost manufacturing opportunities that maintain the specified quality level.
• Assist in performing root cause analyses of product failures and implement corrective actions. Provide clean/ surface treatment process support for new business opportunities.
• Define and analyze equipment performance, capability and requirements, co-work on stage 2-3 development/testing and stage 4-5 technology migration.
• Work with research & development teams for new processes and product development and introductions.
• Transfer and scale up the technology to divisions and manufacturing plants with full implementation of training and documentation systems (Standard Operation Procedures, Process Set-points, FMEA, MSDS, Rosh and Training)
• Assess risks of washing/ cleaning / surface treatment application in engineering, technologies and manufacturing. Recommend suitable substitutes for related industrial application.
• Study correlations of process and product performance, and able to find out the problem root cause base on fundamental understanding.
• Be consulted for the information of process control and lesson learned regarding to projects experiences and backgrounds. Open conferences to direct processes and share technologies to individual division and manufacturing plants.  
• Perform effective communication in interdisciplinary teams. Organize opinions from team members, customers and vendors. Plan and execute project with project management skill (PMP is preferred) effectively as a lead of a technical team.     
• Provide technical guidance and subject matter expertise in glass cleaning/surface treatement fundamentals
• Job requires periodic travel to Corning Incorporated and supplier’s locations in Asia and USA for process development for new products, new operation and process improvement projects.

• Projects related to this position require teamwork with people in different stages (manufacturing, engineering, R&D) and different functions (mechanical, control, facility, process engineering)  
  1. Develop new processes from initial development through technology transfer
  2. Evaluate or qualify new products, new processes and new systems
  3. Solve day to day manufacturing process problems, provide long-term solution
  4. Lead new line and system installation, calibration, start-up and qualifications
  5. Optimize processes, positive impact on manufacturing and thorough documentation

Skills

• Solid knowledge on glass surface properties and surface characterization.
• Solid knowledge on glass surface cleaning/ washing process and fundamentals
• Strong problem solving/analysis skills
• Strong communication skill to work with different multi-functions department with different culture
• Proficient in English and   Mandarin. Good written and oral skills are essential.
• Presentation and technical writing skills to enable communication within the program team, internal, and external customers
• Self-starter, passionate about engineering and have a high level of technical curiosity.
• Dedicated, open to new ideas and recognized for your flexibility to change

Education

• M.S./PhD in Technical Discipline
• Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering/ Materials Engineering are preferred.
• Master degree in engineering with strong Analytical statistics and mathematics is a plus.

Experience

• 3+ years of experience of glass handling in a manufacturing environment
• 5+ years of experiences of glass/ wafer surface cleaning process
• Experience of leadership, leading project, coach junior engineers, etc.
• Experience of driving technology from development to scale up to mass production.
• Experiences of surface characterization and knowledge of surface analytical techniques
• Engineering base to drive technology from development to scale up to mass production.
• Ability to directly analyze fundamental root cause of process problem and implement optimal solutions.
