What will you do? Our Calgary team is growing! We are seeking a Sr System Specialist to support our expanding service customer base and ensure that their building automation systems are properly maintained and operating efficiently. Ideally, we would like to hire someone with Direct Digital Controls experience; however, this also could be a great opportunity for someone with industrial controls or even a strong electro-mechanical background to learn building automation controls and kick off a great career with Siemens Smart Building Technologies. Responsibilities: Act as Siemens lead representative on construction sites and work in close collaboration with the various partners on the sites such as contractors, subcontractors and customers for Calgary, AB. Work towards the project schedule and work package received from the supervisor and/or project manager and maintains regular communication on the status and execution of the projects assigned. Program and start up the various systems (heating, ventilation, energy saving system, etc.). Perform wiring checkout, system start-up programming, utilizing commissioning tools provided Build corresponding schematics and database management. Check the quality of the installations and ensure the accurate functioning of all components of the building control system. Check the various system components to make sure they are working accurately and tackle problems if vital. Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems to service turnover on assigned jobs. Conduct training and development classes for customers on site or at the branch as required. Delivers technical support, coaching and direction to end users and other Service Technicians as applicable. Complete all job closeout documentation. Provide all information as needed to the Service Dispatcher so that SAP data is current. Respond to customer emergency service calls on-site or remotely checks indicated points of trouble. Always respect the occupational health and safety codes. What will you need to succeed? 3 years of college or technical school (electrical, mechanical, or control engineering) or equivalent combination of education and related practical experience Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls experience that will allow the hired candidate to quickly learn our building automation systems (BAS). Good verbal and written communications skills in English. Ability to read and understand design and construction documents. Skilled in the PC applications including the use of Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office. Ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment as well as working in ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings. Must be able to differentiate types/colors of wire. Must be able to use hand-tools. Must be able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted. Must possess a valid Driver’s license in good standing. Preferred experience: Direct digital controls experience with programming, job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting of building automation systems (BAS).
