Manager, the Sr. Systems Analyst provides technical direction for the selection, deployment and support of local-area and wide-area networks which support enterprise and distributed applications used throughout the company. The incumbent will work closely with all internal I.T. groups and external third-party service providers to deliver high quality, customer-focused technology solutions and support services that provide substantial value to AMO’s business. Responsibilities: •Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures. Provide technical direction for the design and deployment of data communications networks used throughout AMO. Establish and maintain technology standards in the areas of data communications equipment, network protocols, network addressing schemes, directory services and network management systems. •Contribute technical expertise to AMO’s overall technology architecture, specifically for local-area and wide-area networks. Ensure the interoperability of all network components and services and the smooth integration of new elements by implementing a structured compatibility testing methodology and by following a formal change control process. •Manage the day-to-day business relationship with third-party I.T. service providers to provide and maintain high-quality technical support services for local-area networks and global wide-area network used throughout the company to support enterprise and distributed applications, Internet access and remote VPN network access. Manage a “technology portfolio” within the financial constraints of an existing outsource budget to maximize the business benefits AMO derives from investing in IT. •Work with service provider(s) to define, refine and adhere to aggressive network availability, reliability and performance targets through formal service-level agreements (SLAs). Accurately monitor and report on vendor adherence to these SLAs on a timely basis. Implement innovations and continuous improvement activities required to meet and exceed all service level targets. Oversee network capacity planning activities with service provider(s) on an ongoing basis. •Interface with internal I.T. customers to understand evolving business requirements that drive the need for new and/or modified information systems and/or technologies. Project Manager for customer-sponsored I.T. initiatives. Liaise with third-party service providers to evaluate and implement cost-effective I.T. solutions within the confines of approved service expenditure levels. •Approve infrastructure change controls for all network additions and/or modifications. Analyze trouble tickets from the problem management system on a regular basis and conduct post-mortems analyses as needed to identify and correct problem root causes. Work with service provider(s) to continuously improve written standard operating procedures and work instructions. •Maintain current knowledge of relevant industry technology, standards and business developments in all areas of data networking including: switched LANs, frame-relay WANs, virtual private networking (VPN) for both remote access and office-to-office internetworking, and IP-based applications such as video conferencing, IP telephony, and web-casting. •Establish and maintain data transfer relationships with internal and external customers for the various inbound and outbound processes in order to support business requirements utilizing multiple transfer protocols such as AS2, FTP, PGP encryption, Secure FTP, SSH, Shell scripting, VBScript, etc. •Provides technical direction and oversees the implementation and ongoing technical and operational support services for the AMO global data communications network. Technology directions, standards and solutions in this area affect AMO entities worldwide. . Qualifications Qualifications: •A four-year college education with emphasis in computer science, engineering, telecommunications, business administration, or a related technical discipline. Or equivalent job experience. •Professional experience of at least 4-6 years demonstrating continuously increasing levels of project and management responsibilities and accomplishments in several areas of information systems organizations (e.g., applications development, technical services, and operations). •. Significant experience and proven track record in either a consulting or line management role in developing and implementing a strategic technology plan in an emerging information technology discipline for a large diverse corporate environment. Specific experience with global network infrastructure planning, design and implementation is required. •Minimum 3-4 years technical experience in a client/server network environment consisting of frame-relay wide-area networking, switched high-speed Ethernet local-area networks, high-speed Internet access, ISDN, switched dial access, and VPN remote access and network security technologies in a multinational global corporation. •Experience in the development, negotiation, review and administration of vendor service agreements and software licensing agreements, as well as the development and management of a department budget. Experience managing large-scale projects in a team-oriented cross-organizational environment. •Proven technical and vendor management skills and the ability to motivate a third-party service provider to deliver world-class, innovative technical services while meeting or exceeding established project goals within a predefined operating budget. •In-depth technical knowledge of a wide range of emerging computing and telecommunications technologies and the ability to maintain this expertise in a rapidly changing, technically complex information technology environment. •Excellent project management skills along with good analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills, with the ability to effectively interact with customers at all levels of management. •The ability to work effectively with others and a demonstrated cultural awareness during interactions with people in multi-national settings. •A demonstrated work ethic that emphasizes customer focus, quality and continuous improvement. .
