The Talent & Development Manager role serves to lead in driving and supporting the talent effectiveness agenda for the Marketing and Consumer Business. The work is aligned with the global Microsoft talent and learning strategies, and leverages core and common programs/processes/systems. The role sits in the Line HR team and has a dual reporting relationship to the HR Line leader and to the Global Talent Management leader.
Responsibilities
- Program Design & Implementation - You lead the design and implementation of talent programs/processes and key efforts of the COE, and assist in the development of engagement and integration strategies. You develop, guide, and manage the implementation of talent management programs and initiatives by identifying organizational talent needs, securing resources, communicating with stakeholders, and prioritizing work. You assist in building plans to integrate the Microsoft cultural attributes and talent frameworks into talent practices.
- Talent Management Consulting - You are a subject matter expert, consulting with internal clients on talent management solutions and best practices in the industry. You help develop tools and/or assessments that guide managers to make effective talent-related decisions, and you communicate talent management approaches to senior leaders and stakeholders to educate on and influence buy-in and implementation of solutions.
- Change Management - You are a change leader, evaluating business drivers to make a case for change adoption. You assess the risks and benefits of changes, develop effective change management strategies, and ensure communications and readiness materials are in place to facilitate the transition of talent management programs/processes.
- Global Talent Strategy and Business Alignment - You contribute to and help develop the philosophy, strategy, and standards for how talent management helps businesses respond to talent-related opportunities and demands (e.g., succession management, talent discussions).
Qualifications
- Change Management - The ability to define and implement procedures and/or technologies to deal with changes in the environment. This may include adapting to change, controlling change, and/or affecting change.
- Consulting - The skill to influence others, develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise for a client in a professional manner.
- Human Resources Business Processes - Knowledge of Human Resources activities and business operations from beginning to end, including interactions with other business processes and functions.
- Human Resources Industry - Knowledge of human resources (HR) industry terminology, technology, research, and practice. This includes knowledge of HR operating environments, issues, trends, and federal, state, and local laws and regulations, and any applicable software.
- Diversity Promotion - The ability to establish and promote diversity and inclusion in multiple aspects. This may include the ability to identify high-performing and diverse talent, acknowledge/provide accelerated development opportunities and available resources, create and maintain an environment of objectivity, open communication, and respect.
- Talent Programs - The ability to develop and implement talent programs aligned with business needs, including succession management, performance management, rewards and recognition, and other programs.
- Talent Measurement and Evaluation - Knowledge of measurement and evaluations methodology, and the ability to design systems that monitor the impact that tools, processes, or learning interventions have on individual performance.
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in HR practices or program/project management OR 7+ years of experience in HR practices or program/project management with Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field
Additional or Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in human resources, business, organization development, psychology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience managing large-scale or complex projects/programs
