Eaton’s Corporate Sector is currently seeking a Sr. Tax Analyst – IRS Practice, Procedure, and Controversy to join our team. This position is based at our Beachwood, OH or Houston, TX locations. Position Overview: As a key member of the Tax Controversy Team, the Sr. Analyst– IRS Practice, Procedure & Controversy is a dynamic position that provides critical support to the Tax Controversy group. The position encompasses supporting the Director and Manager of the Tax Controversy team in managing Eaton’s U.S. income tax audits, including support for contested tax matters that are in IRS Appeals or litigation. This role is responsible for interpreting federal income tax laws, responding to IRS requests, and assisting in the successful resolution of tax controversy related matters. In this function you will: Support the day-to-day operations of U.S. federal income tax audits and assist in managing the company’s relationship with the IRS Consult subject matter experts (Eaton tax professionals in federal domestic tax, international tax, transfer pricing, and tax operations as well as Eaton operations personnel and outside resources such as economists, public accountants, and other tax specialists) to provide complete, accurate responses to the IRS in a timely manner Compile information and respond to Information Document Requests, Notices of Proposed Adjustments, and other exam related matters Organize and maintain information requests and related documents, assignments, and due dates Work with the Director and Manager – IRS Practice, Procedure & Controversy and Tax Counsel, where appropriate, to evaluate and defend various complex tax issues including International and transfer pricing matters as they arise during the audit process Evaluate developments in IRS procedures for application to Eaton. Stay abreast of changing IRS processes, translating those changes to the parameters in which the organization works Research tax issues, including issues surrounding audit strategy. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution Minimum 1 year of public accounting and/or multinational corporate tax department specializing in international tax Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beachwood, OH or Houston, TX will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation. Preferred qualifications: CPA and/or JD Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution Position Criteria: Thorough knowledge of Federal and International income tax law (e.g. Subchapter C, Subchapter K, international tax provision, tax treaties, transfer pricing, etc) Ability to research and communicate tax technical issues Ability to analyze tax issues and possible solutions Exceptional organizational skills and ability to balance multiple assignments while meeting prescribed deadlines Solid computer skills including Microsoft applications, CorpTax, BNA Corporate Tax Analyzer We are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
