Sr. advisor, global commodity manager

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Tracks new technology development for assigned products/suppliers.
• Drives alignment between Supplier roadmaps and Dell line of business roadmaps.
• Negotiates product cost and contracts as appropriate.
• Drives suppliers to improve their scorecard performance.
• Reports commodity and supplier performance on a monthly basis.
• Implements Dell initiatives with supply base as required.
• Identifies opportunities for supply chain optimization and implements as appropriate.
• Identifies suppliers that provide relevant technology for products.
• Identifies cost targets for relevant roadmap products.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• With limited direction, organizes or leads cross-functional commodity team and drives commodity metrics, strategies and objectives while conducting risk analysis and recommending mitigation strategies
• Develops and gains business buy in for complex RFQ In addition to making supply chain optimization recommendations, participates in post-mortem analysis and process updates to support new products
• Drives resolutions for issues within the supplier and negotiates product cost and contracts, involving Senior Management as appropriate
• Tracks and monitors new technology development and supports supplier integration with organization strategy
• Responsible to develop and maintain contact and build relationships with key suppliers

REQUIREMENT

• Typically requires 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6+ years with a Master’s degree; or 3+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
