The Communications Manager will work in collaboration with BNY Mellon’s Pershing Client Communications team to develop content, implement communication programs and initiatives in support of key strategic initiatives and business goals in addition to day-to-day support of brand awareness, client acquisition and client and employee engagement. You must be a talented and flexible communications specialist helping to develop ideas and produce content for various communications targeted to clients. Communications include incident communications notices, documents sharing noteworthy and timely information to clients, policy and procedure documents, announcements, e-mails, and online messages among others. Duties are generally varied in scope and complexity with a focus on supporting the Pershing line of business, with support for enterprise-wide initiatives, as needed. Working in a fast-paced and flexible manner, you will partner with colleagues across the business to produce content that supports our client communications objectives. The position is an individual contributor role and is based in Jersey City.
This position requires proven writing, editing, proofreading abilities, extensive experience leading and managing communications programs, strong initiative, great communications skills, and advanced knowledge of the financial services industry.

Responsibilities:
§ Lead and manage communications initiatives and programs, including the coordination of project plans, and working closely with subject matter experts and internal departments to develop and finalize quality client-focused content in a timely manner.
§ Help develop ideas and produce content for various communications targeted to broker dealers and registered investment advisor firms. Communications may include documents sharing noteworthy and timely information to clients, policy and procedure documents, letters and announcements, e-mails, online messages among others. Duties are generally varied in scope and complexity.
§ Create communications across a range of external formats and channels, including print, multimedia, and that meet agreed-upon communications objectives.
§ Partner with internal business experts to understand communications needs and assist with communication strategies while educating partners on best practices in communications.
§ Maintain and update in-depth knowledge of the BNY Mellon | Pershing business line’s products, services, strategies, and operations. Apply that knowledge in recommending and developing communications deliverables.
§ Set and maintain high standards of writing and performance.
§ Ensure that all written material adheres to firm’s style of voice and writing standards.
§ Work closely with Legal and Compliance teams to ensure client communications conform to corporate standards.
This position requires strong writing, editing, proofreading abilities, as well as proven project management experience, i.e. extensive experience leading and managing communications initiatives and programs from inception to completion. Strong initiative, great communications skills and advanced knowledge of the financial services industry are also required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Degree in Marketing/Communications is preferred. 7-10 years of total work experience preferred. Background in a corporate or agency communications setting is preferred.
