The Opportunity

As a (Senior) Staff Firmware Engineer(FTL) at Marvell Technology Group Ltd, you will use your specialized knowledge of and Marvell proprietary methods of designing and manufacturing semiconductor memory devices to carry out your responsibilities as a member of the firmware engineering team. You will drive/lead the Solid State Drive (SSD) controller and SSD product firmware team to design, implement and evaluate SSD firmware features to support application requirements. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of new firmware features, testing and debugging the new features in a variety of development stages. You will contribute to system-level design concepts and work with the hardware team to bring-up and validate new designs, in module level and E2E full data path.

Responsibilities :

• Drive the SSD FTL scheme concept design and implementation in E2E data path.
• Lead the SSD FTL feature implementation, integration and performance optimization.
• Design, implement and optimize SSD FTL and Common Service firmware features
• Design, implement and evaluate SSD firmware features to support application requirements.
• Perform failure analysis by using various tools and equipment to identify issues, duplicate problems and fix the issues using corrective action.
• Work across teams/sites, which includes but not limits to: requirement analysis with architecture team, qualification strategies discussion with validation team, emergency problem solving with customer support team.

Qualifications :

• Experience in SSD / HDD architecture, ASIC/SoC, microprocessor and memory architectures and Firmware development and FTL
• 7+ years' experience with SSD Firmware Development
• Be familiar with algorithm design and development on Industrial product, ARM base or FPGA base development.
• Bachelor in Electronics or Computer Systems Engineering, Master and above preferred.
• 10+ years' experience in embedded firmware development, digital design, control systems
• Solid experience with Embedded MCU Development Environments
• Strong hands on embedded software design and delivery product with high modularity, reusability and testability
• Preferably with extensive knowledge of hardware/software interface, industry standard specifications, computer
• Demonstrate the ability and leadership to determine, set and maintain priorities of work.

Desired Skills:

• knowledge of Git, Gerrit, JIRA and wiki
• Experience in Agile methodology & practices and testing methodologies.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where iterative changes may need to go out in rapid succession.
