Detailed Description:

 

As a product line manager, the individual will: define Storage or Server product requirements, make sure that the product is competitive from both a cost and feature perspective in the market, be the product owner and drive end to end product lifecycle management.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Understand Storage/Server market and technology trend, conduct market analysis and product competitive analysis.
  2. RFI/RFQ responses for Standard WB, Variants, JDM products (costing and pricing)
  3. Responsible for product engineering changes and managing the product through gate reviews across its lifecycle.
  4. Business case development including BC refresh and product closed loop
  5. Market intelligence - market trends, customers, products, competitors
  6. Product roadmap decisions and prioritization - including features
  7. Portfolio and Product strategy, pricing, positioning, GTM (target markets and customers)
  8. Product MRD/PRD
  9. Portfolio MPS and long-range forecasting especially launch phase
  10. Customer engagement
  11. Product sales strategy (Differentiations, selling points etc) and Services offering
  12. Product and portfolio P&L management
  13. Solution & ecosystem partnerships and strategic alliances
  14. Responsible for Product requirement management, product data management, Engineering change management, configuration management, cost management, and sustaining management.

 

Job requirements/Required competencies:

  1. 10+ years of experience in the field of Storage and Server products design.
  2. Familiar with Server & Storage product architecture, and familiar with Intel and AMD x86 platform. Have a solid basic knowledge of computer hardware and software.
  3. Familiar with mainstream server or storage products in the market.
  4. Familiar with server and storage product applications such as cloud computing, 5G, AI, edge computing, Server/Storage virtualization, elastic computing and storage.
  5. Candidates working as a system architect in multiple Server and Storage ODMs/OEMs are highly preferred.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards
  7. Experience in a “customer facing” environment. Ability to manage customer and vendor relationships, represent Celestica towards external stakeholders.
  8. Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. Creative problem solving includes knowing how to anticipate, recognize and define problems, analyzing and evaluating data, using critical thinking skills, voicing and initiating new ideas, taking action, taking risks, implementing solutions, tracking results and evaluating results
  9. International culture awareness, ability to communicate and collaborate within global teams. Ability to cooperate with team mates and other functions, sharing skills, knowledge and processes with others to achieve goals; including the use of the right forums, meetings, and communication channels to build trust and alignment.
  10. Strong organizational, planning, and program management skills. Ability to manage technology, process and people to deliver the desired outcome in time and in budget. Drive smooth cooperation with other related departments, including but not limited to Design, SCM, Quality, and Global Customer Business Units
  11. Strong oral and written communication, negotiation  and presentation skills. Deliver presentations or other written or verbal communication in a convincing and professional manner, and communicate effectively on every level to create alignment and solve problems.
  12. Quality & Lean: Understanding and ability to use Lean tools to implement operational excellence practices. Apply 8D methodology to implement corrective actions and promote quality mindset and systems to ensure that all engineering work is conducted as per the highest quality standards.
  13. Understand and promote continuous improvement practices, the use of change management methodology to engage engineering team members and also other functions to make changes well implemented and sustainable
  14. Promote learning culture, facilitate learning and skill development among peers
  15. Possess key leadership attributes - value customers, develop strategies, drive decisions, build partnerships and grow talent.

 

Education:

Bachelor degree or above in Electronic information, Computer Science, or related majors

 

Travel:

Usually less than 20%.
