Job Description Summary

BD’s Integrated Diagnostic Solutions R&D Engineering team is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer - Software Test Lead to grow and develop the test team within our Microbiology Product Engineering Group. This role is responsible for leading software and systems testing efforts for multiple product platforms and leading/ mentoring the software testing team in all aspects of testing, manual and automated.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

• Leads and mentors a diverse group of software testers in achieving testing goals for key microbiology diagnostic platforms
• Allocates and manages test resources according to varying needs of different product teams
• Takes ownership in developing a continuous-integration and testing capability
• Builds, refines and manages a suite of automated regression and performance tests
• Promote an environment of continuous improvement, elevating our test capabilities and performance through associate development and training, and increased utilization of test automation
• Creates and maintains documentation related to testing
• Collaborates with project cross functional representation to derive test cases and develop schedule and resource estimations
• Participates in creation and execution of manual and automated test protocols
• Supports our Service and Operations functions to assist with addressing customer complaints and manufacturing utility verification efforts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics or Software Engineering
• 6-8 years of experience in a Software testing role on medical device instrumented systems
• Proven experience leading a test team (both automation & manual) with onshore/offshore models
• Experience working on an Agile Scrum team contributing to sprint planning, estimations and retrospectives
• Past exposure to programming in C# and JavaScript/Typescript.

Desired Skills:

• Ability to understand and write SQL scripts
• Experience working within a FDA regulated industry (ISO 14971, IEC 62304 standards)
• Familiarity with Agile, Design for Six Sigma Methodologies
• Familiarity with leading LIS products like Epic or Cerner
