Position: Staff Product Applications Engineer

 

 

This position is for a Product Applications engineer in the Advanced Data-Converter Platforms Group (ADG). This group develops transceiver products from narrowband to ultra-wideband for aerospace & defense, instrumentation and communication applications such as radar, 5G, LEO Satellite, smart phone testers that create a mobile, connected and safe future. In this position you will work directly with IC design, product engineering, marketing, and field applications engineers to enable customers to move fast from evaluation to prototyping with ultra-wideband transceiver designs, ensure a positive customer experience and win new design-ins. 

 

This position is ideal for an energetic, motivated and application minded application engineer looking for new challenges in cutting edge ultra-wideband transceiver (RF Converter based) technology and application development. The successful candidate will join a product applications team with deep domain expertise in converters, DSP, algorithm, RF, high speed interface and transceiver-based designs.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Engage with customers on ultra-wideband solution recommendation, product promotion and customer issues debugging. 
  • Define, architect, implement, test and release new product/system evaluation boards.  Integrate and troubleshoot software and hardware on evaluation boards.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to work with customers to understand, define and document customer system requirements. Translate customer system requirements into product definition, hardware design and develop system or sub-system reference design board for key markets.
  • Signal chain analysis, circuit/system modeling and system performance evaluation.
  • Create technical media (datasheets, application notes, training materials and technical seminars/webinars that promote awareness effectiveness and ease of use of our products.

 

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in electrical engineering or an equivalent qualification with 8+ years experience, MS preferred
  • Strong knowledge of RF and Converter products & system architectures and familiar with the role of key RF design specifications (such as IP3, P1dB, Gain, Noise Figure, phase noise etc.).
  • RF/mmWave Radio system experience and architecture knowledge(such as 5G communications, RADAR and high-speed test equipment etc.) are preferred.
  • Planning and organization: set and manage priorities, adapt to change, drive progress of activities, issues, risks and deliverables to closure.
  • Experience utilizing RF/Microwave design tools including SystemVue and Advanced Design System (ADS).
  • Experience with RF/Microwave test equipment including Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Power Meters and Oscilloscopes. 
  • Programming experience in C, Python and Matlab is a plus.
  • Deep understanding on DSP/Algorithm is a plus.
  • Act decisively and make clear, timely decisions in the best interests of the project and customer.
