Report into: R&D Director
What will you do?
- Lead the development of Molecular Diagnostic (MDx) assays for new product introduction, including early-stage investigations on new product concepts.
- Lead a project team and collaborate with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams.
- Participates in multifunctional core and R&D team meetings.
- Problem solving using knowledge of technical product details, design control and basic regulatory issues.
- Design and execute experiments independently, troubleshoot, analyze data, interpret results and keep a detailed record of experiments.
- Write procedures, protocols and reports.
- Exercise independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Recommend and execute changes to processes, procedures or products internally to the department.
- Lead training and guidance of junior team members
- Adhere to internal policies and procedures, as well as external quality standards.
How will you get here?
Education/Experience
- Required - Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or similar (at upper second class level) with 4 years’ experience.
- Desired - Ph.D in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology or similar with at least 2 year experience
- Experience with qPCR, CE and/or NGS MDx tests development for infectious diseases and/or oncology
- Knowledge of IVD testing guidelines and processes for MDx
- Familiarity with product commercialization processes
- Experience with leading diverse project teams
- Experienced in working at ISO13485
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong technical and theoretical background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics
- Possess excellent laboratory and documentation practices.
- Driven to deliver quality results on time and in a highly ethical and professional manner
- Demonstrated resourcefulness, self-motivation, systematic and analytical thinking, directed toward achieving objectives.
