As a Staff Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for performing software verification and validation activities as part of the overall software engineering process for medical diagnostics instruments. Primary responsibilities include: Responsibility for overall success of a project’s software verification and validation when assigned as Test Team Lead Propose business cases for test department tools and activities, which outline the costs and benefits expected Aid in the development of test strategies, designs, and protocols Establish schedules Evaluate and recommend improvements in methods or procedures Design, develop, and execute software tests to verify that design implementation meets documented requirements Plan and implement configuration of physical setup of equipment Create/track software defect records in the defect tracking database and verify closure of defects Oversee and review Software Verification and Validation Plans and Reports Required Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of how software verification/validation activities integrated within a software development process Advanced knowledge of Software Testing theories and practices Risk management (project, technical, and safety) Troubleshooting software issues Experience in Medical Device Testing (Blood Gas and/or Urinalysis devices) Testing on Android platforms FDA Design Control regulations, and associated standards and guidances Performing black-box, performance, stress and load testing, as required by the project Designing and developing software tests from software requirements and specification documentation Providing documented evidence of test execution Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Comprehension software specification documents Ability to peer-review software requirements and specification documents Ability to create tests for complex software modules from software requirements and specification documents Ability to define, estimate and track progress of tasks, and communicate project status Ability to create Requirements Trace documentation Ability to perform reviews of manual and, possibly, automated tests Ability to determine resource utilization Ability to work effectively both alone and as part of a team Strong writing, presentation, and general communication skills Ability to manage own priorities effectively Ability to multitask effectively on and across projects, when required Ability to communicate effectively one-on one as well as in groups at both high and low concept levels Ability to travel to domestic and international locations Preferred Knowledge & Skills: Microsoft Team Foundation Server scripting Automated testing tools Experience with testing medical devices Experience on an Agile/Scrum team ASTQB Certification (or the equivalent) Database fundamentals Communication protocols Network monitoring Computer system performance monitoring Various programming languages, such as C#, C ++, C or Visual Basic Communication protocols, such as LIS 3, HL7, POCT1A Chemistry Calculated Parameters for reported analytes Statistical Data Analysis Project management experience Strong organizational and administrative skills Required Experience: BS/MS in Computer Science or Engineering At least 8 years of successful experience in a related field and the successful demonstration of required skills as presented above An appropriate advanced degree may be substituted for experience, where applicable Siemens Healthineers has recently announced the next steps in our continued commitment to prioritize colleague health, comply with customer/business partner requirements, and help preserve our business continuity.
